Full frame can do higher iso and less noise than crop. You can get similar results - like blurred background - with crop vs full frame if you use a smaller *mm* lens. There are YouTube videos out there that explain the maths/calculations you have to do to get similar results with a crop vs a full frame.

This isn't really the case when you're talk about full frame cameras around 8-12 years old Vs an apsc up to 5 years old. I understand the conversion of 1.6x apsc.
Shoot with an old full frame from that time, with old features, old auto focus and old sensor tech and you'll know what I mean. The 5d was a brilliant camera, it was the first dslr ever to be used for tv production but I wouldn't re buy it. Especially considering nearly all second hand purchases are from ex pro users with 50-100k shutter actuations

Shot on a friends 24mm canon pancake, I loved it. Surprised how good the image quality was and how it felt like I was only carrying the body was so nice.

My em5ii and 17mm 1.8 is probably even smaller than that!
Not all kit lenses are crap, the tiny Panasonic 12-32 was a lot better than I expected
I've got a few quid in mft glass, but I'm moving some of it on incase the value plummets with the olympus situation

I have taken it with me to shoot people in London. hanging round your waist, flip screen up no one knows you are shooting. you can crop it after, its
surprising what you find when you get home.

Isn't it a blast with a small lightweight lens? Was debating to get a Sigma art 50mm 1.4 for my A7s recently which would weigh loads, so grabbed a cheap Sony 50mm 1.8 instead and I really like it. Obviously it's nowhere near the Sigma, all the same, despite its limitations, it's a great lens.

that lens wasn't really a cheapo kit tho was it. its about 250 stand alone.

Not sure if there has been a new Sigma 50mm released but i had the old one. That + 5d was like close to 1.5kg. I began to hate that camera just because of the heft.
The move over to mirrorless was a game changer for me.

I'm not sure, it came with a used gx7 I paid £200 for a while back. It was certainly miles better than the 12-50 I paid around 200 for, that lens was a dog

Too much is made of the smaller lighter mirror less, if your buying full frame with a few lenses you'll most likely have a heavier bulkier kit

i think it launched with their GM1. to be honest im out of the loop. i have a habit of getting what i need

I don't mind carrying a heavier camera if it will give me the image that i'm after. Hence why i still use my hasselblad 500 and large format camera. When my xpro2 does everything a full frame does then why would i want the extra weight around my neck?

My wants and needs change over time so I do keep track of what's out, like the 75 1.8 that is an incredible lens, but now my daughter isn't doing drama stuff in dingy theatres, it'll go to fund something else
