Some use chains/arms with male fittings at both ends, such as Solar, and some use female at one end and male at the other, such as Cygnet. There are two common thread sizes used, 2BA (Imperial) and M5 (Metric), so they are mostly compatible. In much the same way, bite alarms from all manufacturers have a 3/8 BSF thread and fit any companies bank sticks etc.

Oh I get that, I've been in engineering for 30 years but the OP made out Cygnet were at fault and guilty of wrongly describing the product.. Cygnet make parts that fit Cygnet products, whether they fit other manufacturers products or not is not there problem.

The description given on Angling Directs website for these pivot arms states "Designed to replace your chains or cords."
So if that's the case in my humble opinion then they should as "supplied" be capable of screwing into whatever you screwed your chords or chains into, simples.
However it's not the case and you need to start fannying around buying grub screws.
It's not a big deal but it is a bit of a misrepresentation to make the suggestion they have.

Sorry mate don't agree, it does replace chains, if they were to add a 2ba grub screw, then they'd have to add A male to female converter, a 2ba to M5 both for the male and female ends for the Nash guys, plus the M6 for the Fox. That would cover all bases and probably cost you a tenner each.

I get where you are coming from but that's almost like saying for example you drive a Ford and you need a starter motor and expecting a Vauxhall one to fit.. Unfortunately there's no standardisation in fishing tackle apart from the 3/8” BSF thread used in banksticks etc At least you've got to the bottom of the problem, let us know how you get on with them I've got the quiver type arms they are okay but not brilliant

It's no biggie since the grubs were a fiver delivered. I get the point about them not "universally" fitting other manufacturer's gear that's fair enough but that said 2ba is a pretty standard thread size, I think everything I have connects with a 2ba and all they have to do is include a couple of male 2ba threads.
Anyway, the cheapos from ebay did the trick and I'm happy with the result 👍

Funnily enough, before Cygnet bought them out, Muddy Waters did supply 2BA grub screws with some of their products...

I've just actually sold a 15 year old stainless Trident pod which was in as good condition practically as the day it was bought. Mate of mine is on his 4th set of carbon in half that time due mostly to breakages, although hes a clumsy sod with a hammer admittedly.
Will always be a stainless/titanium fan 👍

Doesn't if have to be a doubled ended thread grub screw ? I have just bought these pivot arms and I have the same problem I now need to attach my bobbins to the end with out the male thread on ,the grub screws I have seen are slotted and the ones I will need will have to have a point at both ends ,,any ideas chaps

I have some grub screws that will work that you can have for the cost of the postage.... i bought them with the intention of getting some of these arms but ended up getting solar titanium instead... PM me if you want them....D
