Smaller waters Century X Lites 2.75lb and Shimano 10000 XTEs
Also have ESP Tracer 2.25lb and Shimano 8010 GTEs for smaller waters and smaller fish
and a set of Century Armalite 2.5lb 13ft rods
and a set of old Tricast 2lb Multi ranges
and a set of even older Bruce & Walker 10ft MKIV carp rods
and some Mitchell 300A reels
And I hardly fish any more!

Still have my first "proper carp rod ". Northwestern, glass AC6. Then got a pair of 1 3/4tc through action carbon Northwesterns which I still use. Can't really understand why some people change their rods so frequently. Nice to get to know and have confidence in what your rod can do,and know it's limitations. Used to be when a 2 /half lb tc was long range, nowadays recommended for floater fishing. Mainly stuck with British made rods/blanks although i do have a pair of 3lb tc Sportex carbon carps' 2 and 1/4 Northwestern carbon carps and Maddocks challengers 2 3/4. Always looked after my gear, can then spend dosh on music.

I'm a big music fan too.

Thank you nelbow. yeah big music fan. Bought well many many years ago and still have same system from the early 80's. Preamp/power amp etc although I did splash out on some better speakers a couple of years ago. Once bought a pair of Heybrook HB1's off a trendy vicay, gave them to my son and he still has them. Plenty vinyl, plenty cds, plenty tapes ( no 8 tracks ! ) Travel to catch live music. If your favourite band/musician is ever playing the Paradiso, Amsterdam, I highly recommend you check it out. Great venue and the door staff are pretty chilled as you'd expect. Bob Marley in a 40,000 seat football stadium when only 4 - 500 ppl attended was one never to be forgotten. Mr Tutti Frutti, no not the Richworth guys, albeit past his prime ( Im not quite that old ). Sadly died died recently. Music kind of keeps me sane when as I'm sure you know, carp fishing can drive you mad. Last gig we went to was Todd Rundgren in London. I saw the light many moons ago. If you don't know him he bought his house in Hawaii off proceeds off bat out of hell. Meatloaf not my thing though. You may have guessed from my name here, i'm a huge rocksteady/reggae fa. Listen to most things except drum and bass and rand b? R and B is rhythm and blues for you younger carpers

Bought a pair of Abu baitrunners way back. Baitrunner let me down after a few trips so bought triton seaspins3500 when they were first around. I still have them and their boxes. Only ever sent them away once for a service. Got to be 35 plus years old. Then Shimano 4500's and finally Longcasts. All in tip top condition. First set of delkims. Bought a set of Optonics and sent them off to Del Romang when he was still allowed to convert them.Sold them a few years back and don't particularly regret it. Using ATT's now and Fox micron M's as backups or if ever fished a dodgy place.

Old school here...I prefer to fish smaller lakes, so I see no reason for big pit reels and 3 1/2 TC rods.
