Yep. I guess that just shows how carp fishing has changed. No long waiting lists then, if you wanted a gold ticket you just paid the money in the tackle shop and walked out with one. Funny enough I found a couple of old pics of me with a couple of fish from lake 5/6 the other day. Taken around 2001 I think. I look very young. Lol.

I used to fish Earith Carp Lakes on the Virginia syndicate.
Nice place to fish, some big carp, tench and rudd.

Not bad those maps, really helped me learn the lake.
And the commons in the lake, some are awesome.
I had two 20lb commons in a night, the 24 was scale perfect, and the 21 was close. My daughter landed another 20lb common the same night on her rod. I was faffing with a fish, while she struck a run, when I got back she was landing it herself. Awesome.
Kind of wish I had stayed in the syndicate, but personal circumstances meant I had to move on, plus I wasn't too keen on some of the Simmo's

I have known Stan to be called many things over the years (including what he used to get called by my uncle at school when they were there together many moons ago!), but lovable???? Never heard him called that even by his ex's!!!!

Not fished it myself but a mate had a ticket on Hasse Fen a few years ago. He lasted one season due to it not being his cup of tea but caught quite a few thirty's, some lookers as well.
