It seems to me he has planned his fishing two years ahead. Moving the boat, research, observation etc. He is a talented angler and very experienced on the Thames. So he is in the right place, doing the right things, at the right time as often and as long as he needs(lucky beggar). So yes it really is that easy. He is the master of the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Stupid.

lol, easy...it can be if you get it right, bait up, find the fish, dodge the boats, crackheads, bream and everything else the biggest water in the uk can throw at you, yeah easy. I blanked the first year i seriously fished the river and then caught 1 the following year, probably 30 nights worth of nothing but bream. Easy

Fair enough but my point was that carp fishing can be very easy when you get it right. All carp die, very hard to plan for.
