I prefer bait runner, as i can see that it is engaged or not. Saves me checking so often.

i recently moved from BR to normal drag. it took a couple of bites to get used to it. I use the Penn conflict II which is by no means quick drag but as mentioned above i cup the spool and adjust the drag into the fish. I find you can gauge the setting much better this way. i also prefer normal drag as you have more sensitivity.
Sometimes i have to take a few steps back to ensure I'm tight to the fish as i adjust the drag but i doubt this will be a problem with QD reels. I think this is also a common technique with people who fish tight to snags.
I still have the BRs, couldn't bring myself to sell them. Penn affinity's are awesome reels.

Medium big baitrunners the ci4+ are excellent reels.

no idea to be honest. The only BRs i can refer to are Penn affinity 7000s, which are pretty big. I've seen the Shimano big BRs in the shop and would say they are a similar size.
