I don't see how 4 people on a lake are harming anyone so long as they are more than 2 metres apart.
They are doing far less harm than if they were going to a pharmacy or a supermarket. And neither of those are necessary with home delivery.
If we wanted to get serious about reducing infection then we wouldn't have sent people home from lakes when we announced Lockdown. That spread disease. We would have quarantined them at the lake they were fishing.
Yep, those guys would have been there for 3 months. And we would all be moaning because we weren't one of them.
I can't see what the moral outrage is all about. They're fishing. They're hurting no one. Just because we wish we were fishing doesn't make them in the wrong.

You have a right to look after your waters, and keep it safe from the scum that inhabit this country that see an opportunity to steal during this crisis. Several waters have bailiffs doing rounds and checks round here. I don't blame them and would be doing the same. Having one or two anglers is a good deterrent and Remember this is some people's livelihood

I don't agree with the fishing although if its only 4 on what 25 acres and they are distancing themselves and going straight home afterwards I'm not going to get my knickers in a twist over it.
Surely as an owner of the lakes or the leaseholder you could visit the lakes to supplementary feed the stock with nobody fishing.

I know there was one well-known "exclusive" hire water that was still letting people on last week despite publicly saying they were closed....

There are certain situations where a bit of fishing would be perfectly OK, for example, I have seen a photo of a guy fishing the canal from the bottom of his garden....problem is, if one person sees someone else fishing they think, "well if he is, I will" and then you get that domino effect...

Lots of people have lakes on private property or in the garden. No harm in fishing there alone in my eyes. Just look at what is happening at embryo lakes around the country. Protect them I say and feed the carp during the break!
