They sent anyone who registered their device with them last year an email saying if you had persistent connection issue with Apple devices to return the device Deeper pro + or chirp for a replacement as there was know issue with older devices.

The box mine came in had been opened as had my friends, it says if the seals broken to return it. I queried it with the shop and they told me they had been testing each one they sold due to a known issue at the time with quite a few units, hopefully thats now all sorted, similar to Shadows exp.

Mine connects to my WiFi OK - it is the GPS signal that is often very poor.

Had my chirp replaced GPS connects quicker now and doesn't loose connection as much as the previous model that was 6 months old at the time.

I had to send mine back because it kept dropping signal!

has anyone been able to test the new chirp and have more feedback like below - great thread as have the pro plus and was looking to updade. I do like the fact it starts at 1 foot instead of 3 foot like the pro plus.

Just got the Chirp and been testing it out but when mapping and looking afterwards why does it show some images in the lake not up to the waters edge where I am standing and some on land ?
Am I doing something wrong ?

It because the map data base in the deeper software is not as accurate or up to date as it should be. Depends when and where they took. the data for the map from .
Has happened to me a few times.
