Be careful assuming power on casting weights. I have an mhx travel spin built by Tom @cotswolds. It's 3pc 7ft 1/2oz to 1.5oz casting weight and about 3.5-4lb tc easily, stout as hell.. you wouldn't want to carp fish with it.
I'm sure slower action rods will be different as they sometimes carry loads easier, but still don't take what they rate or describe it as as gospel

50-200g will be pretty stiff mate, 200g is just over 7oz casting weight which is double what you would expect from a standard carp rod

Sorry, I edited my post, it was supposed to say 50-100 gr., not 200. So still reasonably soft I would think, but would want to get my hands on it first to try it out.

Yeah, sorry, edited the post, was supposed to say 50-100 gr., not 200. And I do like to add a stick to my rig, so I do want a bit of casting weight, so 100 gr. would be close to perfect I think.

Not the cheapest option but if you want 2 piece net arms then I'm sure you could get a piece of tube machined to make a socket then Araldite to one half.

Yeah, the net might be an issue. Well, like I said in the OP, I could strap that to the side of my pack, but that would not be ideal.
No chance in hell those will wake me up after a hard day's hiking. LOL One of the reasons I love hiking and camping so much, is because that's when I can get a good nights sleep (I'm an extreme insomniac, except outdoors for some reason). ATTs it is. Oh well, I still use my old Optonics on my regular 2 rod setup, and they are due for an upgrade anyway.

Have you checked the 32" Wychwood Solace 2-part landing net? Packs up rather nicely, although to be fair its one very annoying net to use with waders on.
