I think you might have got lucky and got the older stuff.
Tbh it's tricky to know what's what now - I started using it maybe 4 years ago and this was the tighter weave stuff, less supple, and slightly darker in colour. Then a couple of years ago they changed it to the looser weave, more supple, with quite bright (almost garish) brown. To make things confusing they released a wide version last year which is also the more supple stuff.
I prefer the stiffer stuff, that brown colour is PERFECT, it completely disappears. I'm sure it's heavier too.

Im confused now lol, I cant remember where i bought the supple version from its over 12 months ago it was after reading posts on here, i just really liked it threaded easy supple hugged the lake bed and good colour that blends when wet.
I have just compared the two versions i have together very little difference in colour the supple one is marginally darker but its more supple as there is more stretch in the inner, the stiffer one has a very small amount of springiness , when i compared them on some scales both 600mm length the softer version was 3g and the stiffer version 4g, as another comparison the same length of esp tungsten tubing was 5g

I always found the stiffer one to be more springy!
I reckon there might be more versions than we think. At one point the weave completely changed so I bet there's multiple suppliers making this stuff for Rig Marole. Even the worst stuff I've had is still decent so I guess I give up lol.

I will try and explain that a bit better the stiff one has a lot less stretch but what it does stretch recoils quickly like a spring, the supple one has more stretch but very slow spring recoil if that makes sense?
It appears to me that the metal inner is a spring like material the stiffer one has more metal less stretch stronger spring the supple one less metal softer spring more stretch which makes it more supple.
Either way i still prefer both to other makes tubing, like you say maybe there are multiple suppliers or the material suppliers specs aren't fully adhered to

I tried this after Yonnies rec and have to say it is great tube. I tried to get hold of the old stuff 2 years ago as it was less orange in colour than the new but after using the new I can't say the fish seem to care, and in the margins it does blend in well where I was fishing.
The only issue I had was with threading 15lb Sensor through the micro on a week trip abroad, had me tearing my hair out, but now think that may have been line related, I can only put that down to Technium being stiffer than Sensor, especially in that heat. I've been trying 15lb Technium black the last year or so and I've not had a repeat.
The concensus at the time was this was the newer stuff I bought. There is another topic somewhere with pics of both, can't find it though

Woodys findings that the old stuff is 25% heavier didn't surprise me, I was convinced there was a difference. But the new'n is still pukka.

Edit, wonder if the weigh diff was the weave being denser, but 25% is a lot so maybe not.

The lighter one with the loser braid is slightly thicker and approx 1.72mm where as the stiffer heavier one is approx 1.6 they do vary slightly across the length of the tubing.
Ive ordered some more from somewhere else just to see what turns up.

Just got some Rig Marole tubing, impressed with it out of the packet but before I fit ? Do you remove the plastic sleeves on the ends ?
