See it, post 4. Flawed argument if you ask me, you can get into a RT4 and repair if you want.
I would suggest the 'issues' with the RT4 are part of its popularity, much like any mass product it will have issues, its unavoidable, its how the company addresses those issues that count.
I don't think the x boat has gained enough popularity for us to know about its warranty service yet.

Xboat doesn't need to go back just the faulty unit and it can be sorted in the uk. If it's just a connector it can be done yourself. Can't do that with a rt4. You can't even check unless you want to void the warranty.
Don't get me wrong it's a nice boat and with the new rucksack it would have been spot on for me but I want to be able to look after / service and repair the boat myself. Also I can do any upgrades myself so no need to be without the boat.
A uk based service centre would be spot on. May even save them some money.

That's not actually true. A lot of the connectors and wiring looms are accessible by removing the battery tray and as for voiding your warranty quite a few lads have been directed to repair their boats on the bank by CL over the phone
Edit, totally agree re U.K servicing but given the price of P&P probably being the same here or to Germany I can't see them doing it :-(.. .agreed dealer maybe.

For me RT4 all the way.
It's now 2 years i have one and it's a great piece of kit.
I have the heavy Graupner brushless powermoters in it and it's incredible fast, wind and waves are piece of cake for my RT4. It's also provided with a Lowrance Elite 4X Chirp fishfinder (the same model as the hook 4X it's just the older name) with seperate gps system and it all works great.
Carplounge has a very good customer service and you have also 3 years warranty.
All of the components inside the boat are German quality no chinese rubbish.
When they built my baitspirals in on carp Zwolle last year when i tested my boat at home there was a problem with the lights and battery. I called to Daniel from Carplounge and they have picked up my boat and 2 1/2 weeks later my boat was already back home (i live in Belgium) and it worked perfect!!

Correct vossy my boat had the origonal red connectors on and i changed them for the new yellow gold ones.Its 2 screws to take the middle tray out and you can access all the wiring and fishfinder etc.I did have a imtermittent connection problem with the old connectors and daniel wattsapped me and showed me which one to change.I changed them all on everything including chargers batteries whilst i was at it as they cost pence.

I looked at both.
Never even heard of x-boat until some guy who makes them said I should get one because rt4's are crap when I asked for recommendation on Facebook.
Watched a few videos of the x-boat but wasn't feeling it tbh.
2weeks ago I took delivery of a Rt4 with spirals and Lowrance Chirp.
Really happy with it and the service from Carp lounge.
I looked at both.

Have heard carplounge customer service has much improved toslons is even worse in fact its diabolical virtually none existent .Loads of people have asked questions about their products sometimes over and over again they just get ignored.

Yep think I was being abit hasty. They didn't reply straight away because they were away at a show.
When they did reply it went in my junk mail and I didn't see it.
I was told the boat would be with me by end of January and it was sent 4th February so I can't really moan.
The boat came well packaged and exactly how I ordered it with all the upgrades etc.
I've since had further conversations with Daniel because I Restored my Lowrance back to Default (my fault) and he sent me a step by step pdf file so I could set it up again.
Basically each to they own, some boats may suit others better than others.
I'm sure there's nothing wrong with a x-boat!
