From your comments, referencing his reply... sounds like he doesn't really have a firm defence / argument. I am honestly baffled that they looked at their design, with the prongs and didn't realise the potential issues.
The fact they soldiered on suggests to me they are either deluded in their own hype, or blinded by money.... or both, and this is why I have no time for him.

And wrt Ali's response to our concerns, he said that many aspects of carp fishing had some level of risk and this is no worse that others....
I said that this is an additional level of risk, on top of whatever else an angler is doing, so it then multiplies the risk percentage.
Omc are committed to the product so I don't expect them to agree that it is a hazard to hooked fish. Ali says the item is already in production and the tooling is done for this and the other alternative devices (for different lead set ups) so it's very unlikely that any alterations will be made.

OMC have huge financial backing, their accounts show over £750k cash in the bank, so I think they are probably going to be ok, but what it means is that the marketing drive will carry on regardless.

The arms going one way are a weed collector when you are attached to the fish...
The arms going the other way are a weed collector if you have a break off....
Although the arms can bend back it still leaves a shorter but stiffer section that will collect weed and catch on any branch.
Ali tried to compare it to a lead clip that had dropped the lead and the lead retaining arm was facing back towards the angler. It all sounded like clutching at straws.
When the issue of it being a self striking device and would fall foul of the salmon and freshwater fisheries act he said it was a matter of degrees, but would speak with a mate of his at the angling trust and try and get some clarification.
So it seems that they were unaware of this possible issue...

You and me too Vince, I still can't get over how utterly desperate one would have to be to even bring such a contraption to market.
The even more worrying fact is he thinks masses of “people who fish for Carp” (I can't even type Carp Anglers) would be desperate enough to actually use it, what the hell was he thinking??????
What's wrong with a simple basic Startle Rig??? It does just the same in a totally safe way, and has done for decades just using the weight of the Lead.

Seem a far more rational and open minded bunch on there than we have on here. Hardly damning evidence of anything is it, and a lot more open minded discussion taking place

This happened at a French lake 'Prunet' OMC were using to test the twig, snspped off over 100m of line with the rig. Said rig was found with trailing fish. The angler found out OMC had been there thebweek before and contacted Ali H with a pic of the rig etc, who asked him not to show or tell anyone about it. I havevseen the messages from him about it. It's a dangerous rig in the wrong hands or a dangerous rig in the right hands who have an accident

Messages ive seen on facebook make no mention of a trailing fish. Just being snagged up on it.
And its something he was trying to keep under wraps for promotional and patent reasons. Of course he would ask for it not to be made public. People are jumping to conclusions to help push an agenda
