I'd like to think no, but looking at the amount of work/damage that they've already done and I can't see them pulling the plug. I think they will just keep delaying and delaying the end of the project to spread the cost out. I bet it over runs for years.

A mate today had to go round 3 shops today to pick up simple painkillers, paracetamol and ibuprofen.
I had to go round 4 just to find one with any bread left.
When I walked Sky earlier the park was busy, more dog walkers than ever. Those dogs have probably had more walks in the past few days than in the whole of last month.
I managed to walk down to a local park lake, nobody fishing today, and a council employee litter picking who said he thought fishing was probably the best self isolation going, but the numpties, his words, were bivvying up right next to each other, so rangers were 'asking them' to leave.
Another lake I walked around, don't know if there are any fish left as it is right next to the river and had furry friends.

I had the final email to say the last of my tickets officially closed today, which is understandable. Even if you are isolated in a swim on my waters, you still need to unlock several gates, so all the members are handling the same padlocks. Then there's the door handles on the toilets, the club huts, bait freezers, drinking water taps etc etc. Even ignoring the advice about not undertaking non essential travel, theres plenty of points of transmission between complete strangers there. So I'm glad they've shut them for a while. The sooner this is over with the better.
Here's a nice thought, by the time you go fishing again, the clocks will have changed, the evenings will be longer and probably a lot warmer. All those winter clothes you were wearing the last time you fished will be a distant memory.

I don't mind them getting tested. I'm not running the country in a time of National Emergency. I think I can wait a while.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that my cousin has been working on a large site in London and he'd been disgusted with the behaviour of his fellow workers. Well I've found out this morning that when he heard that his site wasn't going to close, he jacked his job and walked off site. The final straw for him was coming into work and finding they had no running hot water.
One of the reasons I think the gov don't want to close sites is most are self employed/ subie's and the government know this and don't want to pay them if there off

Why are some lakes still open and the owners saying its OK u can self isolate here, ffs are they proffesinal health scientists now, the government has told all fisheries to close as fishing is not essential travel, its all about cash with some these fishery owners

Pooter that is the best summary of a building site i have read in years they just make things up as they go along especially if the job falls behind schedule the more they will look the other way

Bear in mind building development is currently massive, so big that many pension funds are heavily invested along with banks etc, even councils have invested the council tax we all pay into local development company's which I feel never should have been allowed to happen. Ever wondered why developers have been given planning permission to build on flood planes, landfill sites and formerly protected green belt areas,

Totally agree. The Last month of a job anything goes. H&S goes out the window, I see it on every job I go on,Im a Groundworks manager so usually see a job from start to finish and it's crazy some of the things the principle contractor try to get the lads to do towards the later phasers of the job.
