Also people are still dying in the countries with low covid rates. The average annual death rate in the uk is about 1400 people on a good day without covid I think
I keep an open mind about it, but play the game to help out

reading and district angling has just announced all reading waters to be closed and locked up from 9am tomorrow
so it looks like fishing is on the lockdown list ?

The ONLY virus ever eradicated is Small Pox . . .200 years after the vaccine was first administered . . that's a long time to continue with regular lockdowns, let alone stop peeps fishing . . .(LOL)

The BEST we can hope for is global herd immunity, (hopefully supported by an 'effective' vaccine) and the sooner this occurs the sooner we can all crack on.

In the interim the question is this - what is more inhumane -

a slight spike in deaths to an already afflicted baby boomer generation (that actually have already had a better innings than any of the rest of us will probably ever do - no war / job security / standard of living) . . .?

or

the serial destruction of civil liberties, businesses, families, culture, mental health, kids education and a future laiden with further unemployment, debt and general unrest . . .?

This isn't going away - make your own mind up on what's appropriate given the circumstance . . .
