It's also a bloody scandal that there's probably been a plan / proposal from Tory HQ all along, but they've let the worry for millions of households and businesses drag on for months whilst they held their vanity contest (that everyone knew the result of weeks ago) so that they could save it til' she was announced as PM, presumably to give her an early boost. Playing politics with the mental health of the nation. Despicable really. Not surprising though.

Well Germany with no political change have only just come out with their plans.
These things take time to sort out.
Keep calm and carry on.
By the way I have a daughter with 3 young children (two just in double figures), single mum struggling with everything and we are doing all to help as much as we can - so I know how tough this is.

Good for you, and lucky that you are in a position to help - and I hope things don't get as bleak as predicted for you, your family, or anyone elses.
My lot are still at home, emptying local reservoirs and depleting the North Sea gas reserves every time they take a shower. In all seriousness, it's a major concern and I hope that we can find a way out of this.

Perhaps she'll suggest a price cap of £2000 and you'll all jump for joy because its not £3500...
All the while forgetting that the fuel and energy companies made billions in profit in the last quarter when the price cap was..... oh yeah about £2000.....
Just like everyone is so pleased that we're 'only' paying £1.70 per litre of petrol because its better than £2.00 but shell and Co are still raking it in

I'm commenting on companies and how they are being protected by your beloved tories whilst screwing over the majority of society. I'm not ok with that even if you are.

And then clarified that I thought his proposal to cut the standing charge was a good idea that would benefit people
I also said I'm commenting on companies and government policies that protect them rather than individuals.

I did hear a good one that by simply adjusting the combi boiler settings that most homes have installed in the UK by reducing the boiler “flow temperature” and turning off hot water “pre-heating could save several hundreds of pounds not sure if he got that one?
Let's be honest what we are all looking for here is a cap
