I'm glad you brought the Tempest up, as I am undecided on the RS or Frontier.
Is the condensation issue with them exaggerated or not?
Heard a few people say the material is thinner than of previous?

I would take the rs over the frontier every time soley for the block. Cant comment on the condensation as my rs is still sat in its box as never used it. Ive seen my mates and material does look thinner than my aqua ultralite. The rs is my 4th tempest and ive never noticed the condensation be any worse than anything else and my mate never had an issue with condensation on his rs100.

I'm in the same boat but the thought of paying the Tempest price makes me feel like I'm being royally shafted for the name
So much so I started looking at the Wychwood Epic which looks to be great value for money. Iirc Miniwelsh bought one recently I'm waiting to see if he gives feedback on it.

im in the same boat, cannot bring myself to pay the price of a tempest, even the brolly. im still using the v2 brolly but its looking a bit tired now. I bought the cygnet cyclone 100 for 80 quid and haven't used that yet...not sold on the cyclone and only picked it up as it was cheap as a back up as my tempest brolly is tired.
I just dont see how the new tempest brolly warrants the price increase, I also dont like the camo pattern that's used too

I have the new frontier 2 x and so far so good. Better than I expected to be honest. I put it up and down several times before taking it on the bank. The block has been faultless. The material seems an upgrade to the v1, darker green and I think it's slightly thicker. I do think it's much better value for money than the tempest red but that's my personal opinion. I managed to get it for just over £500 which obviously made my mind up.
See how this season goes before being 100% on it thought. If the gears don't fail then happy days I say

I only bought the rs as tft had a 15% off code. I would never pay full price for anything.
