Looks like a good idea until the bits start snapping then it's scrap.

They are.
They are.
Use whatever you want to use. If you want to spend a fortune, that's nobody's business but yours. Judge your results on what you catch, and ignore what others may think of as "not a proper carp bait”. If it works for you, fine. If it doesn't try another approach. Chose a bait that you can afford and that you know carp like to eat....And therein lies the clue. If the carp like to eat it, you'll be on a winner. If they don't, you'll know by your lack of action.
ATTRACTION is the key to it all!!!

No idea who you're replying to but the quality of a bait can have a huge bearing on its effectiveness. It won't always have an effect on price though. I know two very good ingredients that cost less than 20 quid a sack thst are in all tge high spec talked abojt baits and those baits would be lesser things without them

I think we can over analyze things. Who needs a load of different ingredients? I've caught a ridiculous number of fish this year using two ingredients, and have done for decades....hemp and corn!

If I was replying to a specific post, I would do so, and that fact would be shown on my response. My answer is not aimed at anybody; it is just general advice, a point of view. If anybody wishes to take it on board, that's fine. If they don't, that's fine too.

To return to the OMC discussion. I work in branding/advertising (for clients like Nikon) and launched Dave Lane's brand & redid the Superteam logo for Shakespeare (PureFishing) as well as brand campaigns for PF's Penn, Shakespeare and JRC, so here's a professional perspective.
For me, OMC looks like a mash-up of Daiwa typography and a graphic boat - almost TV style Ident - it's odd & unclear. It doesn't reflect the emotion of 'oh...just one more cast...& then I'll pack up'. It also doesn't have an inherent benefit like 'Thinking tackle' and DF's 'nerdy' glasses which represent brains, ingenuity etc. ESP / Thinking Anglers / Avid follow this route while Ridge Monkey is mad yet memorable thanks to their distinctive products & strong branding.
As others have said, the market's crowded and I'm still using Fox RX digitals from 20years ago - so true innovation in fishing isn't easy. OMC's apparel def has the TedBaker influence, but personally, I'll use goretex kit from an outdoor brand, if it's tested on the side of a mountain, it's good enough for the side of a lake / river.
DF started Korda by selling leads from a bucket...not with multi-millionaire backers, we used to joke about 'Korda kit you never knew you needed or...solutions to problems you never had' but the lad's done very well because most of the kit is well thought through.
Now, if OMC came up with a lightweight catty with a 100m range and unbreakable elastic....One More Catapult....but the last one you'll ever need.

The branding is not up my street at all , in fact a mate said some of the wording is strange , but it's the products I will look at , putting them in my hand , rather than the backslapping he is getting from people who have never seen the items let alone tried them out .
Tell you what , if you want a roasting just comment on one of his posts , there are lots of lovers who are warriors , including the man himself .

Another spin on it is a professional opinion is based on a professional viewpoint. I did not see what the branding meant but I do think its different to the normal stuff we see and in a more environmentally friendly package.
My bait labels get an "oh that looks nice" from anglers, but from graphic designers it gets heaps of praise for things I don't personally notice but they do not ( designed by my brother who's background is graphic design and earns a mint in London currently ) but I don't possess those "professional" eyes. I can glance over a bait / recipe and scrutinise it like you just did the branding stuff and Im sure for example, those outdoor brands product designer could look at fishing clothing and see it shortfalls etc.
his media presence alone will sell it,
Ironically hes just done a video on the new fox alarms haha

Nice one
Korda sold quality products at the time, now the market is flooded
It's just One More Company trying to cash in on the sheep
