Hi all hope you can point me in the right direction. I listened to a Nash podcast by Ryan need and Wayne mansford and they talked about the time they were in the bcac at farlows and they used a friend's torch that would light up the island in the dark and make it look like day light.
Now the nights are drawing in alot sooner I'm looking for something like this to help me with my fishing straight from work. I'm fishing up to a island at about 60 - 70 yards and my eye sight isn't the best in the light but I want to be sure I'm putting it in the correct place every time. Does anyone own or know of a torch that can help me with the cast in the dark. Thanks in advance people

I got an led lenser MT14 for exactly the same situation, you can focus the beam if required. I hasten to add I only use it to fish to an island, so it doesn't bother any other anglers. I wouldn't use it to focus on an open water marker. Unless you're the only one on the lake. I place it on a folded towel, either on the floor, or on a bucket, you can get it on the required spot, no movement whilst casting, unlike a headtorch.

Yeah I'm glad you wrote that because I was just popping back to say I won't be using it for open water because of other anglers. But yeah in the week it's almost always empty but it's just so I'm not squirrel fishing lol. Thanks for the reply I'll look into that

Do you have to take the battery out to recharge?

Usb recharge so can be done on the bank if you have a battery charger.

Oh... Shame you need a battery charger as well, would have been nice to charge straight in the torch.

I'd look at the Olight range - I have a Warrior X Pro and my fishing partner has a Warrior 3 - both crazy bright, really solidly made and good battery life. Mine will throw a beam further whilst his is a better flood light and has more features/modes (e.g. strobe).

Lensers really good for this - its the only time / situation I use mine. Alternatively get a baitboat with decent headlights and GPS!

Are there any rules about using bright lights?
Not everyone will appreciate lakes being lit up as night as if it were daytime.

Well if you would of read the 1st 2 messages in this thread you would of seen this won't be the case but people like to go on to threads to say nothing to help out or say anything positive. Just saying!

My reply was for meant for anyone who reads this thread that they should be aware that bright lights are not always allowed.
With angling etiquette on a downward trend we don't want people thinking that lighting up a lake is the norm.
I think that's being helpful.

When i said battery charger, i should have said power bank. The torch comes with the cable to connect up.

Nebo make some good torches. I use one for taking the bait boat to the far margin in the dark (no pegs on the far margin)
