Love my Snugpak but don't rate the quality. Broken elastic, zips etc it's that good otherwise I can live with it tho.

In the price range I don't think anything beats their softie material for warmth.

Yeah I think I'll just get another. I use mine all year round with usually just a t shirt under unless it's really cold. Even comfortable enough to sleep in.

Yeah, good point. I looked at it and didn't think it would be easy to do. Did you send it back to Snugpak or use someone local?

I have two British army softie jackets, I love them.
One lives in the car and the other is for my daily wear.
The wrist elastic in my scruffy one had gone slack and allowed draughts up the arms so I bought some thin sewing elastic and manags to thread it through the existing stuff and stitch it in place.
It's not pretty but it's functional.

If you splurge a bit more I'd recommend the RAB Valiance (in Army Green) . . .I've been using mine all winter and its excellent - decent rain resistance and hydrophobic down fill means it will still keep you warm if soaked right though (which under a bivvy is unlikely)
TBF this jacket with its 800fp 'looks' like you would overheat however its not as warm as my 750fp Mountain Equipment Lightline (that I take to the Alps) but the 2L Pertex Shield is much more hardwearing so with the right layering for fishing its perfect - and waterproof (means you don't need to add another shell on top)

after 6 years my sj9 waterproof zip failed.contacted snugpack and they sent me out a new ykk zip not the waterproof one though.paid a seamstress 22 quid and its like new again.
