So my mate has some ponds...and stocked some nice looking carp in one of them.
They bred and now he has loads of little 5" to 6" mirrors/commons...some of which are ghosties.
We've been catching them 30-50 at a time when we get an hour to spare and putting them into a smaller pond, so they don't get in the way of fishing for the bigger originals.
There's loads of them...and they are really pretty fish, every single one of them.
I toyed with the idea of slipping a few into the local river(s) so I can fish for them in 5-10years when they've matured but don't want to break any Enviro Agency rules..SO HAVEN'T done that.
It's a shame not to pass them onto a lake/club that might want them.
Where (other than here!) can I look for people who'd want these fish?

I think he'll struggle to find a club or fishery willing to take any without a health check and even then they wouldn't sell for much. There seems to be an abundance of small carp being sold for very little this year. I think having some ornamental strain in them would make any owner even more wary of them. It would me.

Feed them to foxes or similar, the best thing you can do. Unless you can get proper health certificate of course.

We did think that some kind of health certificate would be needed...and that would be a reasonable ask
They're too nice for fox food...and anyway I don't like foxes 😂
With regards to ornamentals, the 11 original fish were purchased from a fish farmer. I'm not sure if they came with certificates or not...they certainly weren't ornamentals from a random pond thrown in 😜

I think you need a section 30 certificate to move/stock fish for profit.
Ornamentals make people nervous as rightly or wrongly they are perceived to be more at risk from KHV what then can wipe out the originals.
He'd be better off putting an advert on Facebook and selling them off cheap to people who want them for their own ponds.

My local pond (Victoria Park London) keeps getting stocked up By every Tom dick and Harry after the council removed all the fish a few years ago. Sadly the cormorants get most of the because they are too small..

If the body of water is closed then a health check isnt required.
Most waters would want them. Is it ghostie coming through, or is it spots of orange etc on "normal" coloured carp?
Fisheries management page on FB would be a shout.

I would be tempted to dig a 2 acre pond - force feed them with tons of high oil pellet, dig 30 swims, some bark chip and fake grass - wait until they are all 40s (hopefully in a year) then charge £80 a day. Keep or two back get them to a British record weight then charge £120 per 24 hours and plaster the pictures on social media saying old estate lake grown from babies real UK carp.

It's a closed off venue that was dug 3 years ago from scratch.

so many people are dumping these blooming poxy Sturgeon in our rivers that have grown too big for their ponds it would be nice to see these lovely Carp ending up in our rivers instead

I hope these babies find a good home, it's a shame you don't have a stock pond as sounds like you have a perfect succession plan scenario.
