My alarm has now started to go off in low light levels it was around 10.30 pm for two nights but just gone off now (9pm). Its fine in the day.
I've ordered new key fob batteries which may help but does anyone else know if there might be more to it than that?
I've currently taken a battery lead off and locked up manually.

Never heard of anything linked to low light. I would check everything is closed properly, doors, bonnet windows etc. Switches could be activated by panel cooling / contraction. causing some movement. Check for anything inside the car, perhaps a moth is flying close to an internal movement sensor. Dose of fly spray perhaps.
Assuming you have internal movement sensors you should be able to disable them.

Perhaps the car battery is the problem and the voltage is dropping too low and setting off the alarm. Worth checking.

Ot maybe condensation forming on a sensor - harder to fault find unless you know where they all are.

If your alarm sensors are sensitive it might be a cat jumping
up on the car and when the alarm goes off the cat legs it.

There is a cat that lurks here but this would be a first. Car battery reads 12.26 volts, so next thing is trying new fob battery.
I've opened and closed the doors and can't find rogue bugs flapping around, most odd. Terminal off for tonight to spare the neighbours.

I had that problem it was a moth flying around in the car,I didn't know until I sat in there and waited for something to happen it was attracted to the red flashing alarm light

Hmmm, now seeing as this is only occurring (so far) in lower light levels there may be some meat on these bones. I have a red flashing light too.
I've just reset the alarm and going to wait for nightfall, I feel like the grease monkeys Van Helsing

Nope, waiting on my fob batteries to arrive, I've isolated the terminals for now but going fishing this week so if it does go off only the owls will raise eyebrows.
No badgers or moths inside that I can see....

I'll watch this space then, I'd like to know what causes it to come on.

If you've internal movement sensors you should be able to disable them. . Perhaps by keeping the alarm button pressed for a few seconds? Assuming that's the case then at least it will rule out a few things.

what he said, or, if you can't isolate the internal
sensors cover them with a low tack tape, if there
is a voltage fluctuation this may be the reason,
can you charge the car battery away from the car
to make sure it's stable.
Are you sure?
