I've had this for just over a year but finding that the elastic is breaking pretty regularly. It could well be me but I wondered if this was a common issue? Is there a better catty to get?

Always have some elastics spare at home. Need to change them after about 3 years. Most of the time i notice the wear before it breaks. Quick fix on the bank is shorten them for then still usable.

The issue isn't having spare elastics because they break every few years. I've done mine twice in 6 months at least.

I always change the pouch to one that only takes about 3 or 4 18mm boilies, the big one supplied with the Boiliepult, I don't like
I've noticed some pouches are terrible, the need to tie wrap the elastic to the pouch breaks the elastic quite frequently.
'Overtightening' the tie wrap can cause it to cut into the elastic, or stretching the bonds so it breaks.
Check the pouches you get, some have sharp edges on the holes you put the elastic through, that can cut the elastic. The pouches with pegs can come off unless tie wrapped.
The perfect elastic length, is after one elastic break!

Yep that's the one. Breaks in the same place - right by the Y frame.
I've ordered some more elastic. Just wondered if it was a design fault.

I've rarely had the elastic break by the frame.
When you push the elastic on, give it a dose of spit on the elastic. I wonder if no lubrication, brute force and slide is heating the elastic so it breaks.
Push the elastic round the curve, then Again I tie wrap it.

Gave up with all the drennan pults in the end due to elastics constantly snapping, threw them all and invested in a korda medium one........different level to be honest. Elastic lasts, it rarely tangles and the pouch is well made too

I tried the Korda Krapapult, that's my thoughts.
A right knuckle wrapper.
The firing distance is low, I only found them good for particles at short range. The elastic is too long.

Can't say I've had any of them issues, used it up to about 60 yards a lot since Christmas when I got it and with 16mm baits it's been great, fairly tight groupings and very little knuckle slap, still on it's original elastic which hasn't perished at all .........you watch it snap now I've said that

They (Korda) do a couple. Sounds like you used the medium, which I think is made for particles at shorter range and has longer elastic. The heavy has a smaller pouch and you can get very good distance with a few boilies. Not sure how you managed to rap your knuckles, they are very easy to use.

The korda pult with the swivels in the frame is imo the best I have used.I have only had it slap my knuckles maybe twice in all the time I have used it.I just wished they made the tag on the pouch a bit bigger to grip when hands are wet

Lot of people really rate the drennan but I had nothing but trouble elastic snapping and more frustrating was it kept twisting after every fire I had to straighten it all out before loading nightmare
