To my knowledge the ESP Hideout is the lightest @ 7.9 kg all in, with the Atom a close second @ 8.2 all in.

Longtop at a very close 8.1kg
Probably any basic nylon design like a jrc defender bivvy. Or a similar shelter with front panel.
Lightweight shelters disappeared when all fabric had to be able to retain an entire lake on the roof....

JRC Carp Crib. Not a bivvy in the classic sense of the word, but may be an option at around 4.5kgs.

Spot on mate.
I've always looked for the lightest shelters and with each release the light ones get heavier and heavier.
I remember the mk1 Supa was about 4.5 kg. Mk2 had Ventec which took it to 6 or 7 kg. Now you have the Ultra which is 8 or 9 ffs.
Same with the Tempest Brolly, each one got heavier. Same with the F&L......
I'm just waiting for the new Lo Pro/Hideout to do the same now. I'd like to think ESP realise their USP is the silly low weight but I'm expecting a weight increase.

The Wychwood Compact Tactical is only 6Kg all in but it looks very small, height is only 1.25m. Looks like you'd have difficulty sitting on your bedchair in it. Probably OK for short ar*es like me, and for shorter sessions. You can even get an overwrap for this bivvy.

Easy Shelter Plus. 3.8kg including pegs. Brilliant kit.

I wouldn't say easily, but I have enough space using a Wychwood compact bedchair that I can push it to the back with space for kit and cooking etc at the front. The bedchair does not touch the shelter at the ends, there is a bit of clearance. The footprint dimensions are on the Fox website. Depends what someone wants from their kit, comfort or functionality.

If you use the original atom with no groundsheet etc I think it would have to be the lightest on the market

I had an atom mk1 although there light there not much easier to put up than a standard pram hood bivvy just it's smaller and breaking down the poles can be a faff and there very small everything had to go under bed the plus might be better fox easy shelter looks good and there's esp hide outs on eBay new

I've just bought the easy shelter +, this thread made my mind up. I had the original easy shelter, which was a bit too small, and the camo pattern wasn't particularly nice to sit under. The easy+ from my first impressions seems to be a better material from what I can remember, a better size and the attached peak is better..
I've also had the original atom, which does pack down very small, and is lightweight- but I really struggled in it, you can't sit upright, which is a pain, and it's just too low, and there wasn't much room when erected..
