How wide do i need my rear buzzer bar to be to fit my 3 big pit reels (shimano ultegra XT 10k).
Im not folding the handles. Ideally they will be just big enough but no wider.
I have some that are 13" rear and 15" front but they seem far too big, and as im changing from heavy stainless to ali i may as well minimise all i can.

Do you always fish 3 rods? I've found double buzz bars and then a single stick for third rod most effective.
As a shameless advert, have a look at Defiant's titanium too, super light and I've not been able to bend mine after several years of trying

The simple way is to multiply the width of one reel by two and that is the minimum width for three rods. If you just want your handles to overlap slightly then you would have to subtract about half an inch to an inch but its trial and error to get the overlap.

8.5" rear and 10" front gives a nice tight but practical spread. Or get some adjustables and have a play? The Summit bars look very good with a choice of stainless of black aluminum, tempted myself

Just space your rods out as you want them between two chairs or over a broom handle, and measure the distance between the centres of the outer rods - job done

Surely you can just put them on the bars you have and then see for yourself how big the gaps are , and therefore see for yourself what bars you need to buy?

Also #3, i will sometimes just fish a pair of rods on the same buzzer bars so thats why i dont want them too wide, and the new buzz bars will be fixed (non adjustable) and be able to fish a single stick or goal post when needed.

Have a look at the Interlok ones, they do a set that can take 2 or 3 rods.

I have already picked the bars im getting but just not got my hands on mine in the flesh yet.
They are Sonik Stanz, not tarty enough for some but im all about practicality. i have seen them in the local shop but they didnt have the sizes i thought id need. I did try bending one and they seem very strong for ali, its like a tubular section.

I went with 11" rear and 13" front and found that to be perfect.

So they have arrived...
I did as Keith suggested and then laid the buzzer bars on them, and... success.
I have a 9.5" rear and a 11.5" front and I'd say they were perfect.

I might be rubbish at maths but I do know it's "you're" or "you are" and definitely not "your".......so my English must be OK.....
