So it won't be it too long before the weather starts to turn and get cold, what are you cold weather sock recommendations?
Always had a problem recently getting anything I could call remotely warm, this year I'm going to give the red banded UK marine ECW socks a go and the Harkila expedition socks a wirl.

I've been using Darn Tough since 2017 bought in the US, vast range, the heavyweight hiker is very warm, but I've mostly used the quarters, warm and wear resistant. I've probably done 1000's of miles in 3 pairs hiking, backpacking and general everyday wear, reasonably expensive but with a no quibble lifetime guarantee. I did eventually wear them out at the heel but for the cost of UK postage and I had all them replaced foc.

I normally do a couple of overnighters a week all through the winter.
I wear a pair of normal cotton socks and then I put a pair of heat holders thermal socks over the top. I use a cheap pair of wellies without thermal liners on the bank.
The above works for me but I am not sat outside all day in Winter I am generally down from 6pm to 6am and the above works fine for me.

Till I set up it doesnt matter to me, when I become more static than I change to home made wool socks and use those ski thingy warmer if it goes in minus... Also have seperate wool socks for sleeping so they are dry.

I really suffer with cold feet, even when the rest of me is wrapped up warm, and that's wearing Baffin Titans which are polar rated to -100. I eventually discovered heated socks, wear them with the Baffins and don't have an issue. Before the Titans i had some Baffins that were rated to -50 which a mate now has and his feet stay warm in them, so its me rather than the boots.

Yep same for me top socks...wear them on site through the winter months as well...very warm and last for ages ...great socks imo ...go for the knee length ones 🙂

To compliment your warm socks I recommend Cherry Blossom Thermal Insoles for your boots at only £1.99 a pair from Screwfix.

Tried the Sorrels which were pony, so I got some old skool Skeetex and stylee'd it up; they're the ballhang 👍

I own Bridgedale and Brasher socks but the ones that blow them all out of the water are the Smartwool ones
