Can anyone recommend a bait boat that's around the £300 mark please? There's so many different ones these days I don't know what's good

be CAREFUL if you intend using a Deeper pro with a lake reaper ?
you will find it WONT work with the standard boats as its not compatible with lake reapers radio they do do a new compatible one though more money of course

The actors middle hopper is not all it's cracked up to be. The hopper shape gets very narrow at the bottom. I've been having constant problems with the bait jamming a full hopper with just a small amount dropping. This has happened with coated boilies and particle/groundbait type mixes. Theres a reason most good boats have rectangular hoppers with straight sides.

Even rectangular hoppers can get jammed especially with pellet and larger particles. On my Microcat I used to tape a thin flexible plastic 'skirt' over the gap between door and boat with insulation tape. Even have the same problem with my RT4 every now and then. When the door doesn't open fully it can cause the boat to skew to one side on retrieve, not a biggy though.

Look on the boatmanuk.com website their are bringing out a new version of the actor plus model boat with a longer hopper should be available in august for £300 looks great for the price

Not really, it's just you have to find the correct way to load the hoppers. I've had my waverunner come back with 2kg in one hopper before because I'd loaded it with all the little bits first which became too compact . Load the biggest into the hopper first , layer up the smaller bits, and it should be fine.

I ordered/received their mk4i following the reviews but the hopper was tiny for any stiff boom rig or any long hook link. Their new actor plus bait boat has a single longer/larger hopper and hook release. Just pre-ordered mine

so you think a long rig is going to fall horizontally

Started using a actor mk4 this year. No issues with a deeper pro and no stuck bait.
Arrange the lead above the hopper catch, bait in and works every time. Battery life is good.
