Anyone used these yet? Look a lot easier than putty and with the set weight should make balancing pop ups alot easier

Saw the post on facebook when they announced they were bringing them out, someone was moaning about the weight being written on the side of them

Seems a great idea in principal, till you remember that pop ups (even in the same pot) aren't all equally buoyant, so you'll have to trim the pop ups that are too bouyant, or use heavier weights, meaning you need to carry 3 or 4 different sizes, or in other words take my £20 Korda. Plus it ties you in to using their swivels too (very clever!)
Imagine if putty didn't exist, and we had been using these fiddly little weight for years, if someone came along and invented putty, everyone would think it was brilliant! You can add/remove as much as you need, and you only need to carry one pot!

The weights are more accurate than using a blob of putty, regarding popups being variable - I haven't found that to be the case. I use them on bank tackle swivels, so that's ******** as well mate.

I'm sure mine are bank tackle and they just need a bit of persuasion with a set of pliers.
I've found the 30-35g are good for up to 14mm cc Moore pop ups I'd assume everything above is best for cork balls and more bouyant or larger pop ups.

60p each! How much is one splitshot? I'll give it a miss.
I'm always sceptical about split shot damaging the line so stay awake from them, total ******** on my part but don't want to risk it.

The fox quick change weights with the rubber tubing in the middle are brilliant... Come in lots of sizes as well, down to number 4s..
