So, all throughout lockdown last year whilst trying to get some peace and quiet all we hear is scream, scream, scream, scream scream from lots and lots of children from a neighboring property where the back garden sadly backs down onto mine. There were around 18 children ranging from the ages of 2-10 and around a dozen adults of different nationalities. At that time i reported this to the council as it is council tenants who in turn contacted the police.

More screaming today ‘at least 8 children in the garden and after I'd had enough of hearing it decided to go around to the house concerned. This time 5 adults ‘not all at once thankfully' came to the door.

I asked politely if they could please ask if the children could please stop screaming. What I was told next really set the alarm bells ringing because I was asked if they would like for them to hit them. I explained that no child should be hit and that it is a strange thing to say. I was then told that some of the children are 2 years old and went onto say that if we asked them then they would not understand and repeated once again ‘would you like for them to hit them'. They were also very irate i might add too.

I asked how many were in the house and that are you breaking lockdown rules and straight away the answer was a resounding ‘no'.

I came back home and telephoned the police not only about what they had said but also that once again they were breaking Covid/lockdown regulations. Police said they'd send someone around. I came up to the car ‘still sitting in car now and no police officer/s have gone to the property. The weird thing is, is that a police car drove past the house some 45 minutes ago.

Boils the 9155 I'm affraid.

The annoying thing is that after I had emailed the council officer her reply was rather condescending. Starts to tell me about how noise is a part of children playing and how playing is developmental. Now, I'm no expert ‘wife is though in this field' and I replied saying that I'm aware of how playing is important to a child's development but constantly screaming all day long ‘hours on end' is not normal behaviour. There may be folk that disagree ‘well those at the property did obviously' but to me it isn't both normal or acceptable. Take them indoors and don't subject others to such noise.

Council officer told me that they cannot take action in regards to the tenants concerned in relation to covid and lockdown rules being broken because despite my passing them a crime reference number it appears that the police did not turn up. Therefore in their eyes no laws were broken. Absolutely stinks that the council that are their landlords are let down badly in this way.

Same as I said I waited 90 minutes thereafter in the car just to see if they did turn up as I'd explained the ammount of adults and children that are in the property and if they came now then they'd catch them. The woman who took the call told me that there are separate trained officers that deal with this and would pay them a visit.

Seems like no one did visit the property or if they did then they'd given them more than ample time for them to vacate it. In all likelihood it appears to me that they either didn't have the resources to face those adults, either didn't want to turn up because of possible confrontation, or both. No doubt the police thought better of it and felt they could go take easier action elsewhere.

Crack on because no one seems to give a fcuk any longer. As the saying goes, fcuk the system cuz the systems fcuked.

Edit - The children of the tenant that lives at that property then attended school the day after. Unbelievable that people like those above are getting away with and allowed to carry on, yet there are others who will no doubt face longer in lockdown with restrictions imposed.
