Was thinking off getting a set off Penn 7000 custom carbon reels does anyone know if they are any good.

I have a set of these.

Really impressed.

Feel well built, smooth as you like, quality line lay and not too heavy for their size.

They look better in the real than the pics online.

I have them on 3.25 Torrix and they are a great match.

They show how much of a rip off many of the expensive top end reels are......

Had them for about a year now.

Ought them from the German tackle shop M&R at a decent price.

my brother has a set and they look brilliant. great line lay and he said the casting on them is a dream.

id happily use a set of penns.

dont buy XTDs mate.
i had nothing but issues with mine.

line constantly behind the spool, the line guard feels like its made from pasta its that brittle and the bail arm is made from soldering wire

I've had the original Affinity reels for 5/6 years now and they haven't missed a beat. If I felt the need for a change would happily get a set of the newest version
