They've gone for the premium end of the market, which by its nature will always be out of reach and therefore seem outrageous to the mass market. There are people who go fishing who have a lot of money and £1500 to them is pocket change, I very much doubt that these products were released without research to see if there was a market.

Me too, although my current bivvy has adaptive ventilation as I can open and close the vents these will be better for the dog to live in and cook in the other while I sleep in the new super duper pioneer when it comes out.

It could be, or they might be seeing how far they can push things price wise to see what the market will accept. Something else worth considering is that just like any really expensive thing, say an Apple computer for example, these things are seen as aspirational to some, and even skint people will pony up to have the latest must have.
Personally, I'd expect it to come with someone on hand 24/7 to put it up and take it down for me for that kinda lolly with the occasional nosh thrown in for good measure.

No need for someone to take it down it will probably do that all by its self after it has been used a few times.
