I've got a set of 3.25lb tcs century NCS rods in VGC but thinking of a full rebuild on the blanks.. Any recommendations and costs experienced.. Blanks will last a lifetime, just wanted a black look.
I know there are loads of options but looking for rough ideas.. Alps real seats, full shrink, black whippings and 50mm ringing..

I had some 30 year old Century Armalite's rebuilt by Kevin Baines of Anglers Workshop in Stoke. He's also they guy who built them originally for me in 1987. Think he charged me £120 per rod.
Kevin really knows his stuff on rods as he's been building them that long. He has some interesting views on rod building and balance of the rod, he tends to build rods with relatively shave a mall guides. My Armalite's have a 25mm butt ring, half the size of the current "fashionable" 50mm ones.
Give him a call, you'll get his number off tinternet. You'll need too give him some time to do them, think he had my rods about 4 months. OK if you have some spares to rely on, or if you pack up over winter!!

Stripping and replacing the rings will cost about £100 per rod. Handle removal and replacement will add to that.

Think Cotswold Rods charged me a bit over £100 per rod for my old armalites. Full cork, SIC rings, varnish, and a trim down of top section to tighten up the spigots.

Yep they did. They left the original Vig Gibson writing on which was a nice touch

Ask kev to put 50ml on your rods and he will do what i do tell you to **** off ! Armalites are a pain to refurb due to the strands in the carbon , i refurbed a pair never again , not many rod builders will refurb these days
I wont its not worth it i could build a new rod in half the time , you dont know what you will find on a rod someone else has built , kev defo one of the best for refurbs.
