A few weeks back the missus family had us all away at centre parks thetford, rather than spend 5 days with all of them I booked myself onto the lake they have with the father in law. Well as I was finishing loading the barrow one of the bungee cords came loose and caught me in my right eye, after much swearing I called the missus back from the spa to check my eye out(she is a nurse) and due to having a red line In my vision it was decided I needed a&e ended up being a laceration of the iris and two scratches on my cornea!! 3mm higher and would of lost sight in the eye so a lucky escape.

Anyone else have any dodgy injuries while fishing??

Knuckle wrap on a big cast first cast midnight in January a few years ago, blood everywhere, was keen then.

Similar experience to you, except the bungie split my top lip right open, again a few hrs in A&E and a few stitches in my lip...

In the A&E they nearly wouldn't stitch me up in case they didn't line my lip up right and wanted to send me for plastic surgery.... but alls good and you can hardly notice....

I was in a rush as well.... Sunday night spent a few hrs on the lake longer than i told the missus, i had to ring a fellow member to come and watch my stuff whilst i went to A&E as my lip was gushing with blood and i was the only one in the lake....blanked aswell

Freezing New Years day couple of years back. Early start, pre dawn. Stood on the ice covered sleeper at front of the swim and my foot has shot backwards launching me forwards , the swim is about 3 ft above water level so while in mid air and heading towards a soaking I twist and tuck myself trying to land on dry land rather than cat ice in the margin. Its while in the air that I remember that ive recently had both hips replaced and defiantly don't want to be landing on them. So a quick extension of the arms to take the brunt of the fall and ive hit the ground. Somehow ive made it and kept out of the water and just lay still for a few seconds thankfull that id not smashed my shiny new hips. Then the pain started in my hand, quick look down and ive got an index finger pointing right at 90 degrees from where it should be, up and across the next 3 fingers. Not the best start but it'll be ok I can still fish and get it sorted later I thought. About an hour later a mate had turned up and after pissing himself laughing helped me get the gear back to the van and a trip to A+E was in order.

Decide on a move just as it was getting dark last Saturday evening, went over on my ankle twice as I moved the gear the 300 yards to my new location......first one was bad enough but the second left me lying on my back staring at the stars for 5 minutes until I could get back up......it's now twice the size of the other and a lovely shade of purple/red/green/yellow.....

Bungee cords should be illegal

Not while fishing but on Tuesday just gone on the way to work I got hit by a car and ended up breaking both elbows and badly damaging my right hand, most annoying part of it all was the day after I was meant to be starting a 5 day session at coking farm on oak lake so I am still pretty annoyed about it 🤣

As a stupid 15 Yr old cast into a tree on an island 20yrds out, pulled for a break straight towards myself and unfortunately the twig snapped before the line resulting in a 2oz lead to the side of the my head and an inch of exposed skull, funny thing was until I felt the blood pouring down my face I was just happy to get my lead back lol

I once managed to hide myself so well on a no fishing lake next to a gypo site that I managed to fall in and break my hand getting to the rod for the only take I recieved in a year. Still landed it

Trimming a pop up with a craft knife only to slice it down the top of my thumb behind the nail.

Had lots
but couple of notable ones I managed to shove a baiting needle properly into my thumb at night
and I could not get it out got to A&E they x-rayed it and wanted to admit me overnight for surgery to remove it

but I refused and insisted they just pull it out not fully realising it was well in the bone they broke my thumb pulling it out
another good one gave it the biggun using braid not realising my mate had put a large bucket of maize behind me
( I do an off the ground cast ) of course it hooked the bucket the braid went thru my finger like a hot knife thru butter almost removing the top of it 9 stitches but worst bit the French hospital must have shares in iodine when I told them how I did it Aaaagghhh maybe rats are in the lake water ? then pulled it open and tipped iodine on it

I think that was the point in which my bum bit a lump out of the chair and introduced the hospital staff to my range of swear words

Slipped on a patch of clay when casting and fell heavily on my left shoulder smashing my rotator cuff beyond repair, leaving me with a permanent impairment.
Be really careful if wearing crocs on clay....

not carp related but I was trying to get a spider in the garage the size of a tarantula. I'm not a person who likes spiders so when this one suddenly made a jump towards me I drew my hand right into my pike fishing jerkbaits which were hanging up on a rack driving a size two thick gauge wire treble hook straight into my palm at the base of my thumb. A few choice words and the instant feeling of thinking I'm about to faint. Not one of my finer moments.

Was fishing a river when it started to rise i thought it will be okay it wasnt it was at my bivvy door in less than a hour slipped while moving my bed chair rib first in to the hand wheel 2 broken ribs and 48 hours of agony till i could get some pain killers took months to heal that did
