I'm on the market for a new bivvy. I have a Chub Vizor 1 man bivvy and I can't find the overwrap anywhere, therefore, sadly, I'm selling it to buy a more updated model.
Few questions;
What are you using and why?
What are the best, in your opinion, bivvies for thermal insulation (and any other good/important features) and what makes them stand out over others?

Trakker Cayman for most my fishing - Simple design, Lightweight, quick set-up and bomb proof. I rate this bivvy so much i bought a 2man version and a spare 1man version when they were on sale last year. Ive had a few other in similar design over the years (Cyprinus and JRC) but always come back to Cayman
Aqua MK2 Armo with overwrap 1Man - For winter or if i want a little more space ... Probably the bivvy i would have if i could choose only one
Trakker Armo MK1 2man - Longer session/france etc
Nash Ground FS System - For when i fancy being under a brolly or if weather is very warm as very well ventilated
Tempest Brolly - Hardly use as prefer the Cayman
Fox Evo Compact - Hardly use as prefer the Cayman
Carp-Tech Oval - I cant even remember where that is

I've had so many over the years I obsessed with aqua for a long time owning multiple versions including a ultralight, m3, aqua light and fast n light but chopped them in since I got a tempest and I've changed all of them since and now own
A tempest air (custom army Andy front) plus skull cap and wrap (use this for 90% of my fishing) up and down in minutes light great footprint and covers all bases
A tempest xl with skull cap and wrap (use this when I'm doing 3 days or more) or taking the wideboy/kitchen sink - great bivvy with loads of coverage and takes hardly any longer than the air but weighs a bit more
And a cyprinus fast n light that I use for days and slimming it

I've got an aqua m3 compact excellent bivvy easy to erect but think they've discontinued now which is a shame because I would buy another and wrap.ive had the mk1 tempest,mk2 air but missed the peak on a pramhood bivvy.
As for the best bivvy there are so many options and there will be divided opinion some will like a brolley bivvy etc I'd say the best way to buy one would be to look at each option and make the decision based on your needs

I've got a Nash double top plus 3th skin for long sessions and during winter. Due to the inner shell, perfect to keep you warm.
I also have an avid tardis for quick overnighters and small swims.

Aqua 2019 Pioneer.
Best bivvy I've ever had. No faffing around putting ribs together or daft elastics going baggy or snapping. Goes up in seconds with the wrap always attached. Put in the sticks, and it's as solid as a rock.

No faffing.......apart from the erection with 2 poles and then adding 4 storm poles.......

And what an absolute nightmare that is. Like literally I don't know how I manage sometimes. Slide 4 poles into a sleeve and adjust to the required height. F**k it, going to Mars would seem so much more easier, eh?
You know, I've had teams of quantum physicists stand back in awe and wonderment, scratching their heads trying to work out how I do it. True story.
And what an absolute nightmare that is. Like literally I don't know how I manage sometimes. Slide 4 poles into a sleeve and adjust to the required height. F**k it, going to Mars would seem so much more easier, eh?
