hi guys, as the title days. does anyone make a lightweight aluminium barrow?

I think it would end up bulky and not much lighter, the box sections would have to be a lot bigger/thicker guage/both to last. Aluminium also seems to amplify vibrations, that would be painful with a punctur proof wheel!

curious as to why you want a lightweight one? I have a porterlite which is as minimal as I've seen and can't see why you would want anything that weighed less

But your don't carry the barrow so what does it matter how much it weighs?

If it's a quick overnighter then you won't need much gear. So just get a reliable barrow that's just about big enough. The actual weight saving should then be negligible. Time would be better spent getting the best loading position, bulk of the weight over the wheel.

I've just bought a portalite 2. Not had it on the bank yet but initial impressions are that it's really well made and folds down about as small and easily as is possible.

as said below, the only time you carry your barrow is getting it out of the motor and putting it back in
much better off cutting down your actual kit if weight is an issue

Do u really need a barrow for an overnighter ?

thinking about it, perhaps i should have said compact barrow. that would have been more accurate as to what im after!

Porter Lite 2 then mate. Someone here has one and reckons he can get it into the boot of a Toyota Aygo I think he said.
