I'm a carp fisherman in learning. So basically i'm still a noddy carper lol.
I keep getting line going behind my spool. i can't work out why its happening.
I've not had this happen before.
I'm still learning to cast properly, but this has never happened before
It's only happened since i bought the Sonic Vader X 6000 RS reels.
Is there something i'm doing wrong
And is there something i can do to stop this.
If it was down to my casting,how come it didn't happen before i bought these reels
Any input would be welcome

Check you have not over filled your reels,it can go behind if let the line go slack when reeling in.I always check and check again.If the lines new it might calm down once the line has bedded in a bit also

Some people will put the wolly side of self adhesive velcro on the inside of the spool to close the gap and stop it happening mate

By any chance are you using fluorocarbon ?.

started off using Gardner Mirage flouro
now im using ESP syncro loaded xt mono
it happens to both
but like i say ive never had this happen on other reels

i read a review on amazon about this reel
and the person said it happens to them

over filling is biggest culprit

ive found its both spool level and spool shape, if there is a lip to the spool it helps, if the arms have wiper blades or thick brush's it helps, if the spool is level or rounded its hella bad, drives me nuts on some reels,

I know someone who was starting out in carp fishing having done a bit of match angling previously who kept having this problem with wychwood riot reels. He was getting so frustrated and asked me what he was doing wrong so i had a look / play about for him. I checked all the normal stuff as people here have suggested, line capacity, respooled for him ect. Even i couldnt stop it happening all of the time when using them and after looking on the net at the time it seems others were having the same issue so i think it is purely down to design sometimes

Line getting caught behind the spool is usually user error , by keeping the line tight and always looking at the line going on when you are using the reel will sort the problem out . It gets caught because of lack of attention when actually using the reel , if your reel is filled up to the correct level , you've only yourself to blame really if you let it get behind the back of the spool , I use reels with no line guard whatsoever and suffer very minimal line going behind the spool , practice makes perfect
