Can anyone please help me with a knot for attaching my Berkley cf600 fluorocarbon to thinking anglers leadcore which is looped . I have just spent some time trying various knots that include the palomar , grinner and blood knot . All of these have broken on the test . Incidentally when tying to a swivel via a palomar knot all was fine on the test .many thanks 👍

Knot to use is the loop to loop. Tie a 2/3 ins figure of eight loop knot in the fluoro and join by passing this loop through the loop in the leadcore and then pass the rig end of the lead core through the fluoro loop. Really easy to use and easy to untie. Easy to find how to vids. Please don't use a swivel to join lead ore to mainline. Creates a lethally dangerous rig.

Thanks for your help . I didn't intend to use a swivel it was more an experiment to determine that the mainline was sound and not a bad batch . This to me suggested tying to a soft loop was the issue . I could fish the heli naked but I have so much confidence in leadcore that I wanted to keep this if possible . I will try this thanks . Incidentally , I use the perfection loop for my stiff hook links - would this work , many thanks ?

100% test this and you wont beat it, flouro through the loop then wrap 6 times up leadcore and then 5 times back down over the upwards wraps, then back through the loop the same way, wet and slowly tension the wraps back down,
ill be very surprised if this doesnt do all you want, and its good for top beads coming off easy on chods

Thanks for the suggestion. Just to be clear fluoro through the loop on the leadcore around the leadcore towards the hook 6 times , back up over the previous wraps towards the reel 5 times then the tag end back through the loop in the leadcore , moisten and tighten , thanks .

Not familiar with the perfection loop. Have always believed the figure of eight to be the strongest. If you're happy with this knot it's your choice.

Ditch the loops and use a needle knot mate. By far the best and smallest knot for leadcore to mainlines.

Hi I'm in France next week and plan on using leadcore leaders. What is the best way to attach the leader to my mono mainline please? I've seen the needle knot talked about and seems good as rig components can slide over it easily but I'll be using an inline drop off so that's not a factor. It also seems more complicated so would a loop to loop with a figure of eight be ok? Or maybe a palomar? Thanks in advance
