With the lockdown been watching a load of videos on YouTube as the tv has been so good
And I see so many different arrangements in peoples movies just wondered what everyone's preferences were and why
I've seen many with no sheet some with sheet some with sheet and Matt and some with no sheet with Matt

Never used one until I joined the syndicate I'm on but the red ants are a nightmare and the black ones seem to bite as well

Pretty much always use a groundsheet. I hate dirty/mud/dust lol
Always take a small hand brush myself when using a groundsheet, not very effective with wet sticky mud like but what do you do ? Plus the brush doesn't weigh much 😂

I Always use a groundsheet unless its just daytime fishing much prefer the luxury of one
and I tend to be barefoot 90% of the time also if Drop anything easy to find and pick up

I'm quite a neat freak, and have ocd(diagnosed by a doctor not just saying I have it cos I'm
Tidy) and I can't handle mess, everything has its place(this bit comes from my job as a chef everything has to be to hand) and dirt/dust on my kit just sets me off so groundsheet if doing a night but just a day session I can just about handle going bareback

I nearly always use a groundsheet. Some of the swims I fish can be a bit boggy or wet where the reservoir water level is high, so the groundsheet keeps your gear above it clean.
Even on other waters, I often get up barefoot to hit a run, or drop things, it is a whole lot easier to find on the groundsheet rather than in long grass.

Groundsheet every time I fish, wouldn't dream of not using one.
If it's muddy when I pack up I just roll it up put it in the van then at home unroll it on the patio and hose it down then hang up in the garden to dry then it's all clean for next time.

I never use a ground sheet. Too much hassle to set up and get down. Shoes are positioned right next to the bed and are ready to slip on.

Almost always a groundsheet for me, only exceptions might be if setting up on a nice clean and dry barked swim, or on wooden platforms.
Bit of a clean freak myself too - the groundsheet gets a good mopping and hung up on the line to dry before putting away for the next session. I dont tend to use a neoprene mat, but I have been known to clean my groundsheet mid session if it gets muddy. Like wise my unhooking mat and net gets a good rinse and hung out in the sun for several days for the UV to killl any bacteria/smells. When Im setup everything has to be squared away neatly, out of sight, in its place in my bivvy - and I have to take the absolute minimim. Strangely ive never felt the need for lining up my reels and indicators though
My brother-in-law is the complete opposite - he's a proper stig of the dump, never cleans any of his gear puts his bivvy away soaking and muddy and leaves it to fester till the next outing. His swim often looks like he's just thrown all his gear in it and he takes **** loads of gear he never uses.
Would be boring if we were all the same.

Just having a cup of coffee. Looking at the carnage that Is my swim, thinking oh god I've got to pack this up and dry it all out. Then read this thread. Here's a nice picture for all the clean freaks to brighten your morning

I never used to be fan of barked or "manicured" waters - preferring more natural lakes and rivers. But these days - give me a nice clean barked swim any day.
