If you can't or aren't going to use leaders then I would stay away from 13ft 3.75 tc rods. With 15lb mono you would be much better off with 12ft 3lb or 3.25 rods. Where a 2oz to 3oz lead will let you load the rod effectively and you will be pretty safe from crack offs. To exploit the power of 3.75 rods fully you need a lead of 4-5 oz to be able to load the rod. Way outside the safety zone for 15lb mono.

I'm using 12ft Xs ives at the moment just wondered if a 13ft rod would add a bit. Can hit 132 yards with my current set up but thought a different rod may make it more comfortable. This is with a 3.5oz lead

If you're casting 132yds consistently with 15lb mono straight through I reckon you are doing well. In my opinion once you are looking at casting 140 or further just changing the rods is unlikely to make much difference. It's about the whole package, rods, line, leaders, leads and possibly reels.

Cheers mate, I did have a lesson a while back which really helped. Not chopping my rods in is a bonus as will save a some cash

You want something progressive, built to compliment the action and open up the widow of performance. Forget test curve

Not sure guides have much effect on extracting power from a blank but definitely willing to learn. Other than that I think this is pretty much what I said in simpler terms. A good 12ft rod with a medium action and a bit of backbone is ample if you are restricted to 15lb mono straight through.

Guides and where they are placed have a big effect.
Actually you didn't mention action at all. You just said above 3.25 tc is too much for 15lb line
