I'm sorry, if I was a lake owner I'd do the same, BUT mostly why on earth has he gone to jail for shooting an Otter FFS fine him yes, and when his fish have all been killed, not to mention the bird life, give him full compensation and a monthly wage as his income has now gone!!!

Upset by animals released into the wild taking the same advantage of those he has in captivity as his clientele.. then being driven to kill an animal because of failing to protect your assets, ****
The guy's an idiot. The damage he has done to the public image anglers have will be significant, he has done ZERO to help angling with it's predation issues. The article reads as though he thought the members of the public present would back him.... Newsflash the majority of people love otters and all he's done here is make anglers look like blood thirsty morons.

TBH though the fella could have 'resolved' the situation in other ways which would not have resulted in these proceedings.
If the fence would have cost £20k then why didn't he do it? Yep, it's a cost that he didn't want to meet but in the situation it was unavoidable.
