Ive read all the previous threads and still cant decide. I swore i would never buy a nash product again but really like the look if the r4 alarms snd they get great reviews, are they as good as people say? The rx look good but on paper the r4 is better and the fox are huge. My last two sets of alarms were delk d's and just sold my ecu super compacts so not interested in any other alarms. It says the r4's have a rubber coating, does that come off at all as my fox ntxr's had that and it came off and they looked crap.

I've got the RX+, a good buddy who I fish with alongside a lot has the Sirens.
His sirens seem to eat batteries and we've definitely seen times when the receiver fails to register what the alarms are doing, even in very close proximity. Almost like they are affected by interference or something.
The RX+ are big, very big in fact. But they have been durable and problem free in my ownership.
If you asked me to chose between them with my own cash... I'd have the RX+s first, followed by a set of Micron X's and then the sirens!
Why the Micron X's? Because the RX+s are simply not £500 better than the microns. I've owned both.

I like you have had most if not all the best alarms and keep most of them for when the mood takes. Currently the rxs are my go to alarm. They are brilliant but my god they are boring - everyone has then, they are not a thing of beauty just functional lumps of plastic.
The Nash ones I can't keep up with - unsure what set I have but look slightly more interesting but I can't tell the difference between a £10 and £150 head with the Nash range.
I don't use any bite alarm features other than to alert me to a bite. I have no interest in drop back differential- changing leds - being able to plug horrible street lights from them, adding extra ears or even a mute function that needs a degree in computer science.
If you want reliability and a life of magnolia go fox. If you want an alarm that will be on MkXX by August with the ability to change led colour from a different postcode then probably Nash.

If the rumours are true about Fox working on a new alarm it might be worth waiting.
As a older angler I don't find the RX+ big but then I had the old RX and DXR. I recently sold my RX+ and got a even bigger alarm.....sod the trends

Yes the ace i3's were superb and still my all time favourite. My only issue with the fox rx is that i keep hearing they have a new alarm coming out as vossy mentions but still nothing so im reluctant to get some rx as their price will plummet if a new one does come out. There must be one at some point as delkim have now had two new alarms out since the rx.

The latest MK2 R4s don't come with the rubber casing anymore. Mine's never come off, but the fact that they changed it probably means others had issues. My only real gripe with the R4s is their size—and the bobbins they sell aren't great. The adapters are M5 instead of 2BA, which can be a bit annoying. I ended up cutting the hockey sticks off some Korda Black & Whites and using those instead.
Personally if I were in the market for another set of alarms Carpsounder would be my first pick or a set of R3's. Both alarms being a great size and super reliable unlike the two sets of RX+ I had!

Used them in the house when i programmed them in and spent a fortune on kudos bits for them as well. I very rarely fish. Ive only been on the bank twice in 3 years. I just like buying tackle, bit of an expensive hobby when you never use it.

Would it not be a more rewarding hobby to buy the equipment and go fishing with it?

I know this may sound strange but i dont really like carp fishing anymore and havent for years, I love buying tackle though. I dont drink or smoke so got to spend it on something or the wife pinches it.

i have a set of the Nash R4 and really like them mine are the version without the rubber coating on them . I've had them 2 years and they have been fine good battery life . I've had the Rx + previously sold them back in 2020 never had any problem with them in the 3 years i owned them

I have the Nash r4 alarms because I am completely sold on the speed sensing technology which suits me, I had far to many false "bleeps" with my old delkim. The r4 isn't perfect, the mute function is far to complicated and there is no low tone, just many variations of a high tone, but I will put up with these flaws just for the speed sensing. Interestingly I have found the battery life to be exceptional.

It must be the rubber version thats the latest version then. Total fishing have 10% off at min so rx are £519 and r4's £550 but seen the r4 for £450 elsewhere.

the soft touch is definitely the earlier version, its most likely people have bought old stock. the date they were made / tested is on the side of them on the green sticker.
mine are 2021 and soft touch, my brothers which were purchased this year are not

Having owned Fox, Nash, Delkims and Ace alarms over the years I have to say the best alarms by far are those from Nash. I currently have the Nash R4s which are superb but I am not sure I use all the functionality and maybe the R3+ alarms would have been a better option. Personally I would never go back to Delkims. The vibration technology is terrible in rain, wind etc. The Nash alarms are not affected by this due to the speed sensing technology - when they bleep something is happening below the surface.

I really doubt Fox are bringing out a new alarm to replace the rx+ as they just released a whole security set to pair with the rx+.

there's nothing wrong with the transmitter/receiver side of the RX+. honestly, I don't see why they couldn't make any new alarms backwards compatible with it. it'd look great from an angler's point of view too, unlike all the new stuff lately where you've got to toss out your old accessories.

Pretty sure it's just social media speculation, And I'm also pretty sure I've seen Fox comment themselves saying pretty much that.
No new alarm in the pipeline.

In my honest opinion, the Fox RX+ is trading on the name, the alarms took a backwards step from the original RX onwards.
