I've got the BCUK barrow conversion for my Nash Trax Evo, after months of comparing 2 of the bigger companies BCUK came out on top.

I've had no problems with the conversion and it performs very well, BUT and a BIG BUT If I was buying again I wouldn't give them my money, very unprofessional on how there taking money and making people wait 7+ months whilst still doing shows taking new customers, even Global have started doing the same.

I'd buy one from Ali Express/Amazon and do it myself and probably save yourself £200.
There's plenty of videos on YouTube explaining how to do it.

I have the global conversion for my tri-porter and it is excellent I know they are slightly more expensive than the BCUK one but it arrived after only 2 weeks of ordering. Really easy to fit and seems to be good quality. Had it about 6 months now and no issues.

Global angling products all the way easy to fit and quality.

Oh

I was expecting everyone to say that they are excellent, with there lifetime warranty etc .


I'm swaying then to a carp porter mk8 as I don't own a borrow at all .

Just look at the wattage on the ready made barrows, many are only 150W where the conversions are 350W

Has anyone purchased one of these from AliExpress ?

I would get one from there and do it myself 👍

Steer well clear of BCUK. Hear loads of horror storys -sound like a real joke company.

The Ali kits are cheap if you know what your doing. They are not straight forward -you have to know what your doing wiring -loads of people use the groups on fb to get instructions and you may need to convert your forks.

I dont have a sausage assembling stuff so buy one if its your first barrow.

Just (last night) ordered a 24v 350w generic kit from Amazon. 235 pounds quids with thumb throttle. Dely is allegedly tomorrow.
I'll post further details when I've fitted the thing. Battery and charger were a further £170. It's all hopefully going on a carp porter barrow.

Before parting with your money I STRONGLY suggest asking if the item is in stock (in writing) from either BCUK or Global. I'd also take their listings on Ebay with a HUGE pinch of salt.

If on the other your happy to wait, and by wait I mean without any updates or inclination of whats going on, no, or hit and miss replies to e-mails or calls, and the repetition of the same reason for delay then you'll be fine, like

Being told its going to powder coat on Fri and it'll be with you by the end of next week. Then the following Fri chasing up to be told its going to powder coat, me saying thats what you were told the week before...and the reply...I dont lie!

Naturally that's just my experience.

I converted my Fox explorer over the winter with a wheel from AliExpress... really not that difficult - main issue is if you have to adjust the forks, depending on which barrow you have....

Just buy Gash or Pox and be done with it. . . I've had my Trax Power Metro for almost three years now and its solid . . . still on the same lead acid batteries as well (dont fish winters so may explain why) - its also not a racing car; 150W is perfectly adequate for most loads and the majority of UK waters . . .

Few guys on the syndicate have experienced this mate. Spent over a grand with this firm, told 8 weeks waiting, 7 months later and nothing. Emails going unanswered and apparently the owner gets funny when you ask for an update on where your gear is that you have paid upfront for. Something isn't right there. Personally I'll be driving to Crawley for a chat and my money back.

Let's hope that firm don't fold as plenty of blokes that have parted with their hard earned won't get **** all back.

Apparently they have the neck to attend the shows still flogging gear blagging waiting times.

Wouldn't touch em with a barge pole.

I'll be onto my bank or credit card company and getting my money back full stop 👍

Said it before - if this co has zero credit rating / poor credit terms with its suppliers and can only order with upfront payments then your going to be waiting / in a que - nothing wrong with that in theory on the proviso that they communicate properly and are transparent with their terms . . . if not this is a red flag and I'd go nowhere near . . .

I stupidly put an order in with Global a month ago. I thought they were the better out of the two companies. But seems not. Think I'll just cut my loss and try cancel.

dont believe everything you read on Facebook and as you have only been waiting 4 weeks and it clearly states takes 8 weeks to fill

a lot of people post why is there an 8 week wait for motors ? when you can get one from aliexpress in 14 days ??

well that because the motors used by Global are NOT THE SAME they are a higher spec with all metal gears as they have to give a warrantee so they buy a better spec motor they wont have to replace

I've had the wheel about 2 weeks now so about 10 weeks ago. It's quality so easy to put together and powerful.

Hmm. We will see. There are plenty of people saying they have waited for months and months, seems very little reason that people would be posting that for no reason? The last thing Global has posted was saying their server had been down and they have had a backlog of 4000 emails to get through. Which doesn't dound good at all.

I don't understand derstand why people stick up for these shoddy companies. They treat their customers like absolute dirt.

mate facebook is full of fake profiles multiple accounts often sparked by competitors slagging off the competition or people that just dont like the company

a classic example that I think most people are aware of on here a guy really slagged off a certain bait saying it was rubbish etc

not knowing its only sold by the man /genius that makes it by mail order and the seller keeps good records and knew he had never bought any !!!!

To be fair Months and Months equates to 8 weeks so it's probably true.

Over 2 weeks since I emailed asking for an update on my order or a refund. No reply. Why on earth people try to defend these companies is beyond me.

Slightly off topic but the New Fox Barrows are 250W and have a much bigger front wheel than the Nash products . . .had a little test drive with the standard 24V Transporter Power at the weekend in a well known central tackle shop . . . .almost made an impulse purchase to test in the real world however . . . .

Must say even as the smaller of their two offerings its a LOT bigger and heavier than my Gash Power Metro - has some very good features and some really bad ones

The Good
Powerful 250W motor and large diameter front wheel
Forward and Reverse Power
Batteries can be powered externally without needing to take gear off barrow
Retractable front 'shelf' to strap a large carryall / buckets to
Large under bag can take 2x 17l buckets with ease
Supplied with bucket clamps & decent straps
External connection wires are chunky / easy to locate / have waterproof caps

The Bad
Its mahoosive / v heavy / and doesn't break down particularly easily
The multiple connecting thumbscrews are v small and could be lost / chew threads VERY easily
The extendable rod rest bar at the front has a 'lift and lock' connection when erecting / collapsing which is difficult to operate and could be a weakpoint over time (no thumbscrew locking)
The handles have a connecting cross bar that is attached with thumbscrews (rather than welded) - this is to aid stability (and presumably transport) but is actually superfluous and weak (it also needs careful aligning after you've removed the handles which is daft)
Bucket clamps don't work particularly well and its difficult to slide buckets in around the lip
The throttle control is a bit plasticy / weak (the one I tested rotated all the time)
The rear legs have mudfeet but are v short / fixed in length and do not extend - this makes the barrow and the lifting end when resting v low - not ideal for anyone over 6'
The rear legs are collapsed with a sprung pin (the only area where these exist) again which could become corroded / weak / difficult to release over time
The additional mesh panniers are a bit flimsy - ideal for loose clothing but thats about it

Really wanted to like this product - but didn't on balance with current Gash. Nice try Fox but no cigar - IMO they need to bring out a compact version with consistent fixtures and fittings . . . .

I have just had mine arrive, I've only managed to connect it to a battery so haven't fitted it fully yet, the tyre is on the wrong way :( it doesn't seem as fast as my Nash one, but when it's fully installed I'll try and get a review up

You can swap the direction of the motor by connecting a wire I believe. This comes up on the Facebook page all the time.

Yes I got mine in the end, put the Mrs onto them

The tall handles from bcuk have made Trakker Gravity* so much easier to use. I haven't used the wheels from Global yet but they look quality.

Just to add my old man ordered from bcuk about 4 months ago and he's had to get the bank to get the money back as theres no communication from them.

Need to stop trading if this is there normal way to treat customers
