REALLY is no need to pay silly money these days as some really great rods at budget prices lots to choose from

I dont have any personal experience of them but 2 that get good reviews by owners I have read
Tackle Box Darent Valley Specimen Rod 10ft 3.5lb on sale at the moment £68.99 now £54.99 strong contender IMO
and if you can find one Daiwa Vertice Carp Rod 10f 3.5

I like the cork look rather than the duplon look but everyone is different

yes I love cork handles
always makes me scratch my head when these nutters keep the plastic shipping wrap on WTF planet are they on

IMO there is nothing that comes close to the feel of cork in your hands on a rod
but we are all different I come from an Angling life where proper split cane rods with cork handles were the norm
obviously have owned and used more modern rods but where ever possible its cork for me function over fashion every time

I've just brought a set of Greys Xflites in 3.5tc they are 10ft 2 piece rods
Very impressed cast really well with full shrink wrap handles.
Got them for £72 each from Total Fishing

I also have a set of of retractable Sonik Insurgents in 3.5tc they are just as good
Would recommend both

Another contender, the just released Gardner Covert - they do a 10 foot 3.5lb.
£105.
Lovely finish.

And another to consider would be the Daiwa Emblem 10' 3.5lb reasonable quality for the money, I have the EXT version.

Won't a 3.5lb 10ft rod be a bit of a poker?

Have 9ft 3lb scopes and they're pretty stiff.

I guess it depends on the rod, scopes are known to be a bit stiff. I've just got some some 9ft 3.25 insurgents and the tip feels a lot softer than my 10ft 2.75 tx2's.

I managed to get a set of 2nd hand Spectra Compacts Cotswold's build

10ft ext 3.5. Really light and a fantastic action man enough without being like a snooker cue

Most of those recommended would be perfect and probably better value for money

Without question the Tackle Box CF-X 10 ft 3lb or 3.25lb Black Edition Matt.

The rods in the photo below are the original build (non black) 10ft 3.25lb CF-X, I have a set of the 3lb too. They are rated 3.25lb, I would personally rate them more like 3.5lb myself.

They are £140ish Matt. They come in full cork, or split duplon versions. They are much better than Scopes anyway.

You will not get better off of the shelf, unless you get Jeffre to build you some customs.
