Check out the national Daily Mail yesterday online or search for the "sticker" needed on the site itself. It had all the details about it along with a map and all the places it's required.
I bought one once for my old car but never really needed it as I never went anywhere near the places they are needed. I'm off to France next week to outskirts of Paris from Dieppe and the only place I pass enroute is Rouen where they are needed and I'll give it a wide pass and no chance of me venturing into Paris.

Google crit air France, it's £3.90 one off payment, takes 15 mins to apply, you'll need photo of your v5 and know what category your vehicle is, ie euro 5 etc.. you'll have it within 2 weeks, possibly less.

I've just got one. You'll get an email that can be used as proof, even if you don't get the sticker in time before you go.

Just make sure you use the official French website as there are other non-official sites offering the same service for higher rates IE ;charging around the €50 👍👍

Arent these only required in specific cities ? Reading the French website. Its for cities that control air emissions. They list the cities as well.
My understanding is, only needed if your driving through those identified cities and even then, depending on your engine, whether you can or cannot travel in those defined areas.

Correct it is only a few cities / major towns and all listed on RAC site and i think the official French site. For a few euros in my mind better safe than sorry just in case, also yes certain classes of emissions have restricted times / days they are allowed into them areas too.
Extreme example - you're fishing well away from a zone, something happens and you need to travel in to get something (replacement items / medical attention / some other random unlikely event). Probably the last thing you'll be thinking about is one of this crit stickers and may end up with a nice fine for not having it.
Similar to needing warning triangles / spare bulbs etc, you have them just in case.
French low emission zones (ZCRs)
Permanent low emissions zones (known as ZCRs) restrict access (both for driving and parking) to certain vehicles based on their Crit'Air vignette, only allowing access for those displaying a certain category.
These restrictions are in place permanently (usually between certain hours and/or on certain days) and all vehicles seeking entry will need to physically display a sticker regardless of their category, or risk landing a fine.
As of July 2023, ZCRs that might affect drivers arriving from the UK are currently implemented in the following locations in France:
Aix-Marseille-Provence region
Bordeaux (coming in 2024)
Clermont-Ferrand
Grenoble
Lyon
Marseille
Montpellier
Paris
Reims
Rouen
Strasbourg
Toulouse

Just get one if you're going anywhere near a city that requires them. I've had one in my Berlingo for over 5 years, the reason being it only takes 1 wrong turn on the inner or outer
Périphérique around Paris and you'll find yourself wishing you'd bought one....yes..been there!
When I went to Carplounge in Germany I popped into see relatives.on the Dutch/German border, was contemplating a visit to Frankfurt iirc, changed my mind when I found out I'd need another ruddy emissions sticker.
I thought the EU was all about standardisation, why there can't be 1 recognised sticker is ridiculous. I know the stickers would be like a badge of honour but imagine needing multiples if your on a road trip...what a pita.

I've got to drive round/through Paris next month to a lake so have ordered one. For the couple of quid it costs its a no brainer.

Done mine today very easy to do
Only problem I had was with the pic of my docs they wanted
It kept saying it only accepted files of less than 2mb even though I was compressing them down to far less as instructed.
Solved this by just taking a pic directly onto the website and that was accepted

I had the same problem with size of the file , I scanned it and that worked for me and then worked out to just keep clicking the continue box at the end 👍

Small money for the peace of mind
I never intended seeing the Pompideu Centre or crossing the Seine several times, and if on a Carping holiday I never want to see them again unless doing a Urban Banx

Just ordered one myself.
If you have issues with the size of the file (i took a pic of my v5 on my phone) go to the pic on your phone gallery and screenshot it. The screen shot will be below the required size.
