Hi all, I'm on the lookout for a bivvy with a tall front opening, I have issues with my health and back etc, everything I seem to find is either to small and ££££ I don't Want to spend a silly amount on something that will get used maybe 2 or 3 times a year overnight. Some of the bigger door opening are like 3m's which seems excessive. Many thanks

Hi mate, not sure how high you need the opening but I'm 6ft 5in and suffer from a bad back, I recently bought a trakker tempest 100t. I think I picked it up on eBay for about £250, although you do see the odd one on facebook for less. It's doing me good so far.

two spring to mind trakker tempest 100T is Approx 150H x 240D x 260W cm
or a more compact but just as high Solar Spider compact Approx (m) 150H x 160D x 270W.
both quality shelters with height of 150H

Can't go wrong with a 100T, on Facebook you can generally get one someone is selling with all add-one too

Hi there,
Another one definitely worthy of mention due to its height, flexibility and unbelievable price is the Long Top made by the Tackle Box in Kent.
I've had mine a while now and absolutely love it, on the highest setting it's awesome to get in/out from, not to big and with the front removed it's a great summer or travel light shelter.

Depending on what time of year you want to use it for comfort, ease of setup and head height the nash blockhouse would be ideal for you. You can get some bargains on ebay. They setup and put away in seconds. im 5ft9 and can walk in/out with loads of space inside. I use mine in summer or when I need to take a table to work from the bank. Excellent bivvy. Wouldnt take it out in 40mph winds though due to the height of it

Hide xl is a shout. Sure it's 152cm tall at it's centre and I don't have to crouch down an awful lot to get in either

I saw a video of the new Nash Titan (T1?) yesterday, I'm sure it said that the door opening was 1.6m.

The long top looks like a really good bivvy, but the TB website has the height listed as 1.1 to 1.2m which seems like a standard height and much less than the 1.5m most of the other 'tall' bivvies have?
It's a shame, as I would have considered one, as I'm after a tall bivvy too.

I'm 6-2 and suffer a bad back at times which is one of the reasons I replaced my Nash Double Top. If you don't mind a bit of space and the swims are big enough you could always have a look at the Tempest 200. It's 1.75m at the door and a good 3m deep and probably as wide again. When I was out last weekend a lad was using one in a couple of pegs down from me and I'd forgotten how good it was as I haven't used mine for a couple of years now. The other option I'd recommend is the Fox Frontier XD which is 1.65m at the door. Both fantastic bivvies and you probably wouldn't go far wrong with either.

I'm 6ft 4 and love my 100T - ticks all the boxes I need and the zip in mozzie panel and all weather infill make it perfect all year round

I will measure it when I'm on the bank later but sure when it's on its highest setting it's a tad higher than that, obviously if I'm wrong I'll stand corrected, or crouch corrected if I'm in the bivvy 😂😂😂😂😂

Im 6ft 3 also damaged my back couple years ago so sometimes it plays up on the bank, I had the tempest 100t now I have the frontier X both good bivvies and good for my back
