I have one and its real quality and a perfect size for me the only thig TFT have got the WRONG WEIGHT as its no where near that mine delivered with pegs front everything before I even undid it was 7.4kg total so without the included front and pegs etc its very light
Dimensions (m): 264cm x 150cm x 150cm 7.4kg 10.000 HH

Do you have to use storm poles with the Solar brolly?
I've ordered one, my old Wychwood tactical has given it and started leaking. That really was a great brolly so the solars got a bit to live up to

yes once fitted they stay on you can even leave the front storm poles on too if you use them

Well I bought one, couldn't resist at that price and with OGs backing!
I've used a 100T for the last couple of years, be interested to see how they compare weight and speed wise after all the discussion on here between the two.

The solar is ok as a summer brolly I wouldn't use the front or buy the ground sheet I think the tempest is a lot quicker no storm poles to adjust and the biggest plus is the tension strap
puts it to the correct size every time and also it's free standing I don't think the tempest can be beaten tbh and all the extras wrap scull cap ect you can buy

It horses for courses mate. I used a Tempest for years and really liked it. Wanted a shelter with vents and got the Solar due to good reviews and I got it at a good price (not as good as it is at TFT at the moment though). For me I find it quicker and easier to set up than my Tempest ever was, and whilst the variety of extras you can get for a Tempest is great, they also total up and you can end up spending a fortune. The only extra I want from Solar is a mozzy mesh front as I don't like using a solid front but as I often get destroyed by mozzies that is the one glaring omission in my mind

I have a tempest as a back up, but I find it too big for what I really need. Yes the extra room is nice, but not essential

It could be me but the solar looks as big as the tempest they are both 60 inch I wanted a 50 really but not made anymore so a 55 would be ok using it for days and nights lake and the river
and thought the solar was 55 so ordered one
i found out after it's a 60 so I have 2 x 60 inch shelters which I didn't want I think the ideal size brolly is the aqua but far to expensive

the solar is only 150 deep and to me that makes a big difference on a river peg as most are on a slope where I fish and of course far superior height especially as I fish with rod tips high

Yes makes sense on the river I was just a bit surprised that it was a 60 the idea was the tempest would be my bivvy front on g / sheet full set up and the solar would be for days nights on the river no front no sheet
as it is I feel I have 2 bivvys I might as well just used the tempest for everything a 60 for days on a chair is a bit ott
