Been looking at getting a gas stove for my trangia I've seen ones for £20 and others for £60 which I think is to expensive has anyone used the cheaper one and are they any good can you recommend one feedback please

does the same job I bought a cheap one the Go System one its stainless just the same

I have had the go system version ,paid around 20 quid for it ..
I found it works best with gas cans that have the connection at the top of the cans,...so...I bought the long thin sized cans plus the adapter thinking I'd save some money ,however I found using those long thin cannisters coupled with the adapter to be extremely volatile, dangerous ..
Where is it now,in the bin ,would I recommend it ?...no !..also the actual gas pipe,is to short....if I went that way again I'd get the proper job,....

I'm amazed after moving to gas...I've had a meths trangia for over 30 years...swore I'd never go to gas...but now I have...I paid around 20 quid for the go system version and so far it truly is spot on...gas cooks quicker, cheaper and above all cleaner....plus its sooo much easier to regulate the flame (no more black sausages)...for 20 quid you gotta try it...then you'll be converted too!...

Hi Wandle... hope all 👍🏻 I too bought some GoGas long bottles a few months back for not a lot. Thought they would be perfect for my trangia gas burner....... mistake.... unpredictable, uncontrollable and a bit of a liability tbh. Need to find the usual style cannisters sooner rather than later before something gets singed

Hi, them long Butane Cylinders, have a pipe inside, it runs central down cylinder, then bends 90 degrees & goes to side of cylinder. Thats why notch is in can top, so when located in suitcase type stoves, it gets gas from top, not liquid fuel.
If not the case they can flare up big style using liquid gas. So take notice of notch position.
You don't want to use liquid gas, until preheat tube on stove head is well hot.
Same if using fat canisters & Propane/ butane mix (don't invert canister till preheat tube well hot).
You don't want gas as a liquid squirting through holes in gas head.

Cheers Bob, useful info, I don't often use gas with my trangia but when I do I shall remember that little nugget👍👍 any flare up near your bivvy is an experience best avoided 😂😂😂

I also used the go system gas thingy,on my lixada ,stick stove,whereby there is a separate circular hole to fit either a trangia,or tatonka meths burner or clone,or either the Trangia ,or clone gas burners....plan was,to have ALL,bases covered..ie..
Stick stove plus Hamaro wax lighters,and any survivalist small dead fall

Plus the MSR,seagull 775 stainless one pot do it all system..Great idea,it works ...but went back to Trangia 27 ul custom ,including Kernow bushcraft wax protection..

It's true,
There's a magic to the silence of a trangia spirit stove. I love sitting by the lake, listening to what's going on around me and on the water, no rush, no hassle, a gift from a bygone era.

Agree with both comments,....also there is nothing better than a stick stove ,for atmosphere at dusk watching and growing those little flames,the flames get bigger ,and the rolling boil happens of course this only good ,if dry fuel is abundant..
Love my 27ul...
(Stick a lazer printed Nash logo on it ) and it would be carpy all of a sudden..

Hi, had a Trangia 27 for years, not used it yet, except Kettle 
Used this alot in past on those slow cold winter days, just chilling out, when Pike Fishing.
Mainly to make Tea.
Used it with meths, but it does take the Gas Stove.
Prob smaller than Lixada Stick Stove (that looks OK).
Not cheap, but will last for years, quality.

Have you seen the price of Spam now, it must work out dearer than buying a joint of beef for Sunday dinner size for size.
I used to always have a tin or two in my bag for emergencies etc or I overstay my session and need extra food, but I think I will be downgrading to a tin of bacon grill now.
