I do a fair bit of driving for work and meet a lot of people. Currently I'm going to a place in Birmingham. Got chatting to 2 polish guys. Really nice guys. But thay always weight there fish in kilos. Where I'm lbs. Chatting to a few others as well thay use kilos. I also been watching a lot of new YouTube where thay use kilos. Is this a new thing or am I missing something

Yup, kilograms in europe. But, sometimes, because it sounds better we switch to pounds, which of course is 500 gram

Me as Italian weight in kilos, but I get used to lbs as well and I'm able to translate from one to another quite easily. It's not so simple as inzenity wrote since 1 lbs isn't 500 grams but 450 and something. Just to simplify it every 5 kilos is 11 lbs. So 20 kilos is 44, 25 kilos 55 lbs.

It is mate, i was reasoning from the metric system in which a pound (lb) is 500 gram.
But you indeed explained the conversion fun perfectly when we go to imperial weights.
As a carp angler i like the imperial weights better, well at least it is a british 20/30/40:P

Fish are always in lb.
Height (of a person) always in ft.
Speed always in mph.
But basically everything else for me is in metric.

Apart from bait everything else in fishing is in mperial, even the thread on your bank stick is a thread from a bygone age, just like me

Yeah I do my body weight in kg too. Only those three things are in imperial for me.

Not true, rod length imperial while the rings and real seats on them are metric. Line normally on metre spools, bivvy dimensions normally quoted in metric but still refer to brolly's in inches. Bedchair dimensions normally in metric.

LB's or KG's it doesn't really matter to me either way ..when i'm back in the UK or here in Spain ...most of the time i'm blanking

Anything with mass has weight, if a suitable vestle is used and air is pumped in and submerged in water, then released a means of measurement can be used to weigh the air
