Just seen on YouTube a video about a new kind of hook it's not barbed and it's not barbless
It's a bit of both sort of reminds me of a saw as has cuts on the inside of the hook where the bard would be .very strange idea.
In my opinion trying to reinvent the wheel. Can't really see how it's going to be a point between the two excuse the pun

Just watched that video too - not convinced it would do anything more to a barbless hook.

I thought the same thing. And been out years apparently never seen them or spoken to anyone who's used them must be really popular hooks then. Don't think I will be investing so for that reason I'm out

Been using the treble version for years, a really good hook. Although never thought about using the single hook version for some unaccounted for reason!
I haven't used them because a few places I fish have already banned them but yeah they have been out for a while now mate

When I was reading in the Venues Thread a fishery not too far from me was being spoken about which I found quite funny so checked their website and they have the following rule:
"BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY TO BE USED. NO MODIFIED, FILED OR CRIMPED. NO PALLATRAX OR CIRCLE HOOKS OF ANY KIND."
They also have some other rules basically telling you how to fish as well though.

I use them on a water that's barbless only, I'm not convinced they perform any different to a barbless hook, but they are nice and sharp and I've had no problems with them so continue to use them
I really don't get why barbless venues ban them, they go in and out of your jumper like a barbless hook, a lake I fished years ago would allow crushed barbs, but when the bailiff did a rig check you had to put the hook in and out of your jumper/T-shirt to prove it was crushed ok

I banned them from my place after talking to Pallatrax. They assured me that the hook would stay in a fish as well as a barbed hook in all scenarios. Now I insist on barbless hooks because I want a fish to be able to shed a hook as easily as possible should it become snagged or a baited rig lost for whatever reason, allowing these hooks made no sense to me.
I would imagine that the lake owner that banned circle hooks did so for the same reason.

The serrated edge on those Pallatrax looks nasty for some mouth damaged as it moves around and saws back and forth in the hook hold

Not a chance, they go in and out as easy as a barbless hook, as I said there really isn't any difference, the seration on the hook is minimal, you can hardly feel it, although the close up pics etc make it look like a saw 😂 to me it's just a gimmick/sales pitch,

Even if he didn't, you made the right choice for your lake
Fishing is too enjoyable to be worried about "oh will they allow this?".
Just easier to follow each lakes rules and enjoy the fishing

Good hook TBF always sharp out of the packet too!
