If you are fishing in proper frosty weather OR ! just having problems with getting all the gas out of the tins ???
couple of things that will and wont help
number one the worse
stove covers if just using a stove jacket it will work against you and make it worse ! have you noticed the bottom of a butane container getting really cold even frosty thats because of action of the liquid butane vaporising into gas and your so called insulating jacket makes it worse by containing it in the jacket

The best most of us own a small USB power pack to charge our phones and a truly brilliant thing to buy is
a USB Warmer Cup Mat
you simply stand your tin of gas on it plug it into your power pack and bingo problems are gone for about 4 quid ! and for the sado`s that worry about the colour what does it matter you cant see it when in use lol I got mine a long time ago it was £2.30 then
I also have a small plumbers soldering mat mine is a cloth type but now they make silicon ones I have had it for about 10 years after burning a hole in a groundsheet once

I use one of those USB baby's bottle warmers on the longer narrow gas canisters helps a little bit ,I'm not too bothered about the pattern on the material once again from China

For years now during the winter months, I just put some pond water into a small bait bucket and drop the cannister in the water. The water will be cold, but, it will always be warmer than the cannister in use and stop it freezing. Performance is not as good as a warm cannister but, its better than "No Performance" with a frozen cannister or almost frozen.
Plus, it makes no difference to me anyway as I always cook on the lowest flame that I can. I keep a track of how long cannisters last with a stopwatch, a 450 lasts me on average 8 hours, and incredibly 220 canisters last on average 6 1/2 hours religiously. Half as much gas and lasts a lot more proportionately longer. Why, I do not know, maybe the larger cannisters have more pressure in them and you cannot get such a low flame so your always burning more gas, and when they are empty, there is more void inside full of gas that does not come out so more wastage maybe?. This is why I prefer to use 220 canisters instead of 450's.
And, I keep the bucket of water inside the bivvy, so when it comes to cooking my tea meal, it will be warmer than the pond water if it has been a sunny day unless it has been an extremely cold day and if it has, then I just refill it out of the pond again.

You're right about the gas canister covers but if you stick one of them hand warmer things that look like tea bags in the bottom that works a treat.

I finally bought a Trangia this winter. No issues with cold gas and it boils the small pot of water much faster than I expected using the pan as a lid.
yea I use a Coleman and a Trangia Cobb,Cadac etc etc
but THIS THREAD was SIMPLY just to HELP people having a problem USING their gas stoves CHECK THE TITLE
some people OWN and love using their gas and not wanting to buy other stoves 
they are not all like me

I simply press the button on the side of the watch, or if I'm using my phone it lights up when I want it too.

Been using one for decades mate and yes got 2 good gas stoves as well. Had the odd flare up. Lol love it. But nothing better for a winter brew. Yep used all the differnt fuels. Use standard u leaded and I add a squirt of hand sanitizer to it's well. Never missed a beat and it's the peak 1

Used to add it when I lit it got going quicker and added it to tank for ages. Obviously it's the high alcohol one. Never get clocked pipe and works a treat.

I use to pots.. in wide one I just warm a bit 1cm of water with cold gas and than put gas canister in that water and boil the water in other... got this advice on here...
