Currently fishing a water that has a braid ban and struggling with fluorocarbon for range. I'm the biggest mono hater out there mainly because of the feedback when feeling for a drop. Anyone recommend a mono that gives some kind of feedback, less stretch? They all state lees stretch for improved response but all a load of waffle. See thinking anglers just recently released a new co polymer line, anyone tried this?

To be honest most monos I've tried I've been able to feel for a drop. The further out and the shallower does make it difficult.

A low stretch like touchdown might help but I've never found one to be any better.

Not that easy to get hold of, but P-Line Extrusion is low stretch for a mono.

I've found Gardner Hydro Tuff to be better than most in this regard (in 15lb).

I'd agree here, the Extrusion is very low stretch for a mono.

I use Korda Touchdown and find it fine for getting drops, it's not as pronounced as Fluoro or Braid but very good for a Mono.

The new Thinking Anglers OGX is getting rave reviews for it's low stretch and feedback....

I have got some, spooled up my reels this weekend and it went on lovely, not a lot of stretch but not springy either. Looking forward to giving it a go.

Try a heavier lead, I find it makes a big difference with mono.

Sometimes, I fish only a 2oz lead instead of a 4oz and I get the feeling that I am not hitting the right spot or the bottom has changed as there is a lack of a "donk" and think I am going into weed or thick silt, but then realize why and when I try it with the 4oz, I get a good solid "Donk".

I've been using touchdown for a season. I find it okay. I was using GTHD. I found that better for feeling the lead down, I think it also sinks noticeably better than touchdown and actually behaves better as well. I had a bit of a coiling incident this weekend with the touchdown. So I think when it gets changed I will be back on the GTHD to ge honest.

Having used PB Control its not the same.
